Methodology

6. The study was a quantitative approach to gather the total
population of Students, particularly Journalism Students, who are
in college. The respondents currently study in City of Malabon
University. With the use of stratified sampling, dividing the
population of Journalism Students by their year level. Starting
from 1st year, next the 2nd year, then the 3rd year and 4rth year
students. In order to examine the effectiveness of social media
platforms, survey method was used for investigation, as this was
found to be the most appropriate method to carry out a survey in
order to find out the effectiveness and importance of using social

study. The area that has been selected for the present
study is City of Malabon University which one of the
university who offered Journalism Course in the City. A
sample survey was among the students of City of
Malabon University. The total is 30 sampling of
students studying in the course of Journalism at the
City of Malabon University has been takes into
consideration.

10. • Our recommendation for this research is that students
need to know what information is useful or not on social
media.
• Social media is a really convenient and important
communicate network for all the people nowadays. And by
this time, social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok,
Twitter, and Pinterest are provide free access to online
communication and information in order student can easily
find concrete information online. Because many various
website and social media network are providing plenty of
information that can be help to students.

11. • Via social media news feeds, student can find
information and relevant website they want to follow so as
to be kept in the loop. Depending on their interest,
students can find answers to their questions. Sites, such
as Tumblr and Pinterest, offer student inspiration for
school projects or practical problem- solving. The
educational benefits of social media networking sites are
also those that help student prepare for important lesson
and learn certain concept with great efficacy.

13. Based on the finding of the study, we conclude that
the Effectiveness of Social Media Platforms in
serving Information to Journalism Students of City of
Malabon University was effective, the study proves
that the social media was helpful for their studies
because (25 out 30) majority of the students agreed
that using social media platforms in getting
information is very helpful for their studies.
