Effective Networking
                         Quick Tips to Producing Quality Connections


•   The 7 secrets to Effective Networking!
        1. First impressions DO matter. Stand tall. Be proud. Convey confidence.
        2. Only 7% of communication is the words you use. Smile. Engage. Listen.
        3. Eliminate non-prospects ASAP. Don’t waste time talking to people you already know.
        4. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Listen. Ask good questions. Listen.
        5. Have goals in mind before you network. How many quality leads do you want to meet?
        6. Only quality leads matter. You’re not there to collect business cards.
        7. Make a promise to call…and keep that promise.


•   How to create an Elevator Speech that generates interest! (10 sec : What, 40 sec: How)
        1. Your elevator speech should generate a reason to talk in more detail at a later date.
        2. Do not spout off a list of products or services you provide.
        3. Share why they would want to do business with you (WIIFN). Give an appropriate
            scenario (“Do you know when….”).


•   The real purpose of Effective Networking!
        1. Your goal is to get an agreement to speak 1:1, i.e. a meeting or phone call.
        2. You must honour the 4 steps to making a sale.

                3. Present
                4. Close (Ask for order / commitment / action)
