We’re pleased to unveil our new and powerful product, iQmetrix Maps, which offers a set of live interactive maps specialized for the North American wireless industry. iQmetrix Maps shows all U.S. and Canadian carrier information, your company’s store locations, your customers’ locations and density, as well as competitors’ location in your surrounding area. Combined with official census data (e.g. age and income) live traffic and weather overlays, iQmetrix Maps is an incredibly powerful tool for planning the strategic growth of your company.
Building Reports in Business IntelligenceiQmetrixCorp
BI comes with a lot of great reports built for you by the iQmetrix BI Team! In this session, we’ll show you how to leverage BI right away using the Standard Reports within the system. We’ll highlight some of our client favorites and discuss some simple and effective ways to introduce the reports into your business. For customers new to report building, we’ll build a basic report in Report Builder and highlight the data points of the BI Cubes you’ll be using to build reports.
The Reality of the Employee ExperienceiQmetrixCorp
As a complement to our ‘Reality of the Customer Experience’ session, we take a similar behind-the-scenes look at what’s happening in your stores – from the employee perspective. As sales were happening, our reps were there: shadowing, watching and asking lots of questions. Why aren’t certain employees offering handset insurance or phone trade-in? What information do employees still need and want? Are they pushing certain products over others and if so, why? On the flip side, what are the outstanding sales reps doing? We’ve interviewed them and asked them what motivates them and what sales techniques work best. At the end of the day, employees’ success is your success. This session will take you to the core of their success.
An unfortunate reality in today’s retail world is the growing increase in fraud. In the rapidly changing wireless industry, new phones, new commission plans, new discounts and bundles, the potential for fraud in a wireless store is huge. Fraud, of course, isn’t just lost or stolen items – we’ll also look at things like commission fraud, for example. In this session, we’ll examine industry stats, RQ4 client stats and identify things we’ve seen – and how you can prevent and monitor these things. Every lost or stolen item counts, and knowing what to look for operationally will affect your bottom line.
RQ Retail Management: Connecting the Inventory DotsiQmetrixCorp
This session will hone in on key inventory features many clients aren’t using, including: inventory settings, product attributes, inventory statues, discounting best practices. We will also highlight some lesser known but AMAZING inventory reports to show slow moving stock, best practice on ordering and advanced BI inventory reporting– why they matter, why sharing those numbers will change staff behavior. This session will also include “best kept expert inventory secrets” from clients, as well as insight on partner programs that work for them.
RQ Retail Management: Taking Numbers from Good to GreatiQmetrixCorp
Regardless of the task, all employees want to improve their performance. It could be GP/Handset, Accessory Attach Rate, HSP Attach Rate, Trade in Attach Rate, Customer Satisfaction Scores, Traffic into Stores, etc. How can you take these numbers and make them better? Pulling a number of key examples from our Project Retail project, we’ll examine attachment rates, customer follow-ups, discounting, staffing and more. We’ll look at RQ customer stats to show you how improving performance (through the right numbers) is possible.
Rethink Retail: Connecting with Today's Mobile ConsumeriQmetrixCorp
The convergence between mobile shopping technology and the wireless retail store is of course of great interest to our client base. Smartphones (the ones you’ve sold your customers) have changed the way people shop and also their expectations of the in-store experience. In this session, we’ll look at trends related to what today’s mobile consumer wants (in-store pickup, mobile POS, etc.), real-world examples of how retailers are trying to meet those demands, and in-store mobile solutions iQmetrix offers help you deliver that desired shopping experience.
RQ Retail Management: Top 10 CountdowniQmetrixCorp
This session will take a countdown approach to highlight some of the best features and uses of RQ4 (think David Letterman Top 10 list). We’ll show you ways to use existing features in new and exciting ways, features that help create great customer and staff experiences, and cool contests and promotions used by real retailers like you. We’ll also take a sneak peek at upcoming features that are sure to change your life.
Creating the Ultimate Wireless Retail SpaceiQmetrixCorp
The days when the physical store was the sole transactional point-of-sale are behind us. Today, the focus is on the customer experience: creating excitement and inspiration, invoking social engagement, offering a relaxing experience through the use of design elements in the space, and providing interactive tools as well as friendly, knowledgeable staff. These spaces not only build a loyal customer base, but loyal and motivated employees as well. We’ll discuss key store design principles using real-world examples that you can implement in your business to enhance the customer experience and boost sales.
We always talk about the customer experience, but how can we use XQ and RQ (and all the skills we try to impart to employees) to create the ultimate customer experience? This session will examine what it’s REALLY like to be a customer in your stores. Like a “secret shopper,” we will visit dealer stores of various carriers, RQ and non-RQ retailers, core carrier stores, big-box stores, XQ stores, and multi-carrier stores. We will identify how we were treated, which experiences stood out, which retailers truly shined and why.

ERIC NOTES: do these stats reflect specifically Retail environment workers? If not, can we get specific Retail environment worker stats? Also, given that the average Wireless Retail employee is Generation “y” how are they specifically motivated to stay in or leave a job?
How do you know if a comp plan is working? How do you measure it’s success?STACY: Find out how long each panelist has had comp structure, find one who had something go wrong and what is what. Go through the question for each, then go back to someone who failed ex: “Mike, I know you recently changed comp plans, can you explain why?”If someone pays volume, I wonder if we plug milestones here?Ex: if I work for you…what about this comp plan works?ERIC NOTE: as part of the question, also ask “What DOESN’T work about the comp plan?” to warn the audience there may be pitfalls to watch for. Also, see my notes to Q2 slide – if you expand on this question by also asking what are the other elements of incentives and compensation, you should be able to get Q2 answered here too at the same time.
With changing question 2, maybe this can be a retention slide?
ERIC NOTES: I think this question will get answered already by Question 1 – if you ask each panelist to expand on their ENTIRE comp plan and incentive packages in Question 1, you’ll get this question answered already as part of that discussion. Perhaps for an alternative Question 2 then, you might ask them: “What steps do you take to ensure you have more success in finding the right employees the first time? How do you identify those that are not performing or are not a fit to your organization, and how do you handle under performers?” This will get them talking about their hiring/screening activities, performance management etc.Panel – Scott LevinsonPanel – Mike PPanel – Dean L
This could be accessories or carrier featuresIn addition to new products, it could be a re-focused energy on existing products or services. Ex: Handset Protection, Trade-in, GP/Hour etc.Mark B – No more gross ad’s exist, the carriers own them all. Every customer already has a phone, what are you going to be sell them now?ERIC NOTES: Maybe ask them as well if they do any analysis to determine what mix of products (plans, features, handsets, etc) in fact gets them the best margins, have the lowest return rates, and appeal to their customers the most? Do they build their comp models around this knowledge, and how do they motivate their employees to focus on selling the right things for the right customer opportunities?Panel – Mark ButlerPanel – Mike PPanel – Dean L
There’s no doubt, tablet sales are on the rise. We’re in a world where there are more phones than people. I think Mark said it, that we are no longer just operating wireless stores, we have to adapt to the needs of our customers. With tablet sales set to more than quadruple in the next 4 years its definitely worth talking about. ERIC
It seems like summer just ended and we are planning for hopefully a bigger and better holiday season than last year. As we all know, the holiday season can be a make it or break it for a retailer, even in our industry. The holiday season is soo important, it can actually represent up to 40% of a retailers annual sales.
Ask sub-question ERIC NOTES: I would go broader than just focussing on Tablets as a vehicle for additional sales. Tablets have been around for some time now, and Dealers have been forced to market them – but it doesn’t sound like it’s the “winner” product they were hoping for. Maybe use Tablets as an example, but focus the question on ‘What do your sales and marketing strategies look like to maximize existing product lines like features, plans, handsets? What is your strategy for complementary products like Tablets look like? What other emerging product lines do you see in the near future and how can you capitalize on them?”Sub Question:Do you have a tablet strategy?Panel – Scott LevinsonPanel – Dean LejaPanel – Mark Butler
Know your shoppers….They are still shopping online. In fact, 36% plan on doing all holiday shopping online this year. 55% of consumers who shop in store vs online plan on shopping post holiday because of the discounted pricing. This clearly indicates that a post holiday strategy makes sense.Timing wise, know what 40% of consumers who plan on shopping in store vs online will begin shopping right away…before halloween. And of course…there’s people like me. The last minute shopper. I’ll spend more for convenience and that isnt going away. So charge me more, I’ll allow it and I’ll pay for it.
ERIC NOTES: Also ask them what they see the consumer trends shaping up to be for this holiday season? How can they ensure their operations are tweaked and in line to ensure they fully capitalize on any holiday trends?Panel – Mike PPanel – Mark BPanel – Scott L
