2. EDUCATION
 Education is the development of individual according
to his needs and demands of society, of which he is
an integral part.
 The social aim of education is that education should
make each individual a functioning member of the
society and socially efficient.
 Education in general paves way for a society that is
morally civilized and intellectually blessed.

3. ROLE OF EDUCATION IN PROMOTING DESIRED
SOCIAL CHANGE.
 Education is considered as powerful instrument for social
change.
 It deals mainly with the thought process and behaviour
patterns of the younger generation.
 Education serves also as an instrument of indirect
propaganda meant for changing the attitude of pupils by
inculcating new ideas, ideals and ideologies.

uplifts values and beliefs.

5. TEACHER AS A NATION BUILDER AND CHANGE
AGENT.
 Teacher plays a pivotal role in the education system as :
 a promoter of change
 an agent for social transformation
 social engineer and
 a nation builder.
 His qualities, personality and efficiency help the people to
become good human beings.
 Teacher inculcates education blended with the lessons of
respect, obedience, trustworthiness, cooperation and justice
among the pupil.
 Teacher educates pupil for their betterment and welfare while
at the same time enlightens their conscience to become noble
and cultured human beings.

6.  Teacher is blessed with the power of bringing a
change in one’s mentality.
 Teacher as a role model can play an active role in
bringing about a complete transformation in the society.
 The teacher can bring moral enlightment in students.
 Teacher plays an important role in preparing and
shaping communities and societies towards exploring
new horizons and accomplishing new levels of
development.
 Teacher can provide quality education at a very tender
age among children so that they flourish and realise
their worth in contributing towards the harmony of the
society .

7.  Teacher plays an important role in building and shaping
character of the child.
 Teacher with his patience and never ending efforts
brings complete makeover in a student’s behaviour and
attitude towards others.
 Teacher creates an environment where the students
learn ethical behaviour and the true spirit of cooperation
without materialistic benefits.
 This help students in living close harmony even after
completing their education.
 Thus teachers make them responsible citizens who
thereby help in advancing towards the dream of a
developed nation.
 The present society can only rely on the efficiency and
credibility of the teachers to bring about the much
needed social transformation in the society.
