2. Corcovado
The Corcovado Mountain is certainly the
biggest attraction of the city. Situated 710
meters above sea level, the hill holding the
statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of the most
famous monuments in the world. The statue,
which measures 38 meters and weighs 1,145
tons, was inaugurated in 1931. To get to the
main terrace, visitors have to climb 222 steep
steps or use the escalator and elevators with
panoramic views. The climb to the top of
Corcovado Hill can be made by the little train
that climbs up a railway, one of the country's
oldest, opened in 1884 by D. Pedro II. Rua

3. Bondinho bread sugar
