1. How To Edit Facebook Fan Pages
For anyone who has created a Fan Page in Facebook, this is a step-by-step tutorial
on how to edit the settings and information of your Facebook Page.
2. Getting to Your Fan Page
Log in to the account connected to your Facebook Page.
Click on the Ads and Pages link on the left-hand side of the
page. This will take you to the main edit page where you
can change your options and adjust settings to your
preference. Notice that you can click on the text in blue to
edit various areas of your Page, or you can edit your Page
by going directly to the page.
3. Edit Your Information
Click on your Page’s name and then the Info tab to edit your information. Click on Edit
Information on the right.
Here, plug in your information so your fans will know more about you – your location,
hours of operation (if applicable), contact information. Then select Save Changes. You can
also edit information within each section by clicking the Edit button that appears when
you hover over a particular section with your cursor. Either way, this is where you can add
your Web site, as well as parking and public transit information if needed. Only the fields
you fill out will appear on your page; those you leave blank will remain hidden. Be sure to
click Save to avoid losing your changes.
4. Wall Tab
On the Wall tab, click Options and then Settings. Here, you are able to choose which tab
will serve as the default landing page for visitors to your Page. Facebook automatically
chooses the Wall, since that is typically the most interactive tab, but you can choose for
visitors to land on your Info, Photos or other tabs, if you have them enabled.
Also under the Wall tab's settings, you can select what the default view of your Wall will be
– whether or not you want it to be your updates, your fans' updates or both at once. You
can also control whether or not you want fans to be able to post updates, photos and
links. If you want an interactive, highly trafficked Fan Page with rich, frequently updated
information, it's a good idea to allow fans to be able to post these items.
5. Landing Page
When you view your page, the box on
the left below your profile photo is a
great spot to include keyword-rich
information about your business,
product or organization, along with a
link to your Web site, because anyone
will be able to see this section
regardless of which tab (Wall, Info,
etc.) they're viewing. To edit this
section, click the pencil icon on
the top right of each box.
6. Photo Settings
To edit your photo settings, click on Edit Page and then the Edit link below Photos.
Here you can select Edit Settings and begin adjusting your settings. You can
control whether or not your fans can post photos and whether or not they can
tag your Page in photos.
