Social Media and External Links Due to the constant evolution of the Internet and social media, REALTORS® can no longer rely on a single website to mark their web presence and capture the Internet consumer. REALTORS® now have to maintain a website, a Facebook page, a blog, their tweets, a newsletter and so on. To help you promote your multiple social media sites to the consumer on HAR.com, you can now include links to these sites on the property detail page of your listings if you so choose. This action will also assist HAR in its goal of helping its members provide more relevant information to consumers. To find out how to add your own social media links to your listings, please visit http://www.har.com/SocialMedia / HAR Tool of the Week
Weekly HAR Market Stat With September data in the mix, keen observers may find some clues as to how we'll finish off the third quarter. Sales were up, while new listings lagged compared to the same week last year. Several local areas have seen up to 20 percent inventory declines, but home prices react to more than just supply and demand. The smart money is watching the distressed segment, seller concessions and absorption rates in addition to job growth and consumer confidence levels as we head into the final quarter of 2011. In the Houston region, for the week ending September 4: • New Listings decreased 18.7% to 1,848 • Pending Sales increased 22.7% to 1,250 • Closed Sales increased 27.8% to 1,590
