International Journal of Pharmaceutical Science Invention (IJPSI) is an international journal intended for professionals and researchers in all fields of Pahrmaceutical Science. IJPSI publishes research articles and reviews within the whole field Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science, new teaching methods, assessment, validation and the impact of new technologies and it will continue to provide information on the latest trends and developments in this ever-expanding subject. The publications of papers are selected through double peer reviewed to ensure originality, relevance, and readability. The articles published in our journal can be accessed online.
—EEC syndrome is a very rare syndrome having ectrodactyly, ectodermal dysplasia and cleft lip/ palate as cardinal signs with other variable associated features. Very few cases being reported. It is mostly inherited in an autosomal dominant manner. Such cases need coordinated multidisciplinary approach for treatment. A case of incomplete EEC syndrome having ectrodactyly and cleft palate with absence of the signs of ectodermal dysplasia with no systemic anomalies was reported. Other features noted in this case were syndactyly of fingers and toes with bilateral entropion.

— Pterygium is a common disorder in many parts of the world including India. So this study is designed to find out the bio-socio-demographic profile of Pteryzium cases which can help in understanding its distribution. This study observed that mean age of individuals with Pteryzium was 37.23±1.71 years. Maximum number of cases belongs to ≥26-50 years of age (83%). Pterygium was found slightly more in females was 55.71% as compared to males (44.29%). Most of the cases were housewife (52.86%) followed by labourer (14.29%). Majority (80%) cases were exposed to sunlight. Mean size of pterygium was 2.616±0.529 mm ranging from 2 mm to 3.8mm.In our study, with Keratometer, mean astigmatism was found 1.35±1.127D and from Scheimpflug imaging, mean astigmatism was found 1.22±0.95D in this study.
The Prevalence of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa on Recommended Glasses of Selected V...paperpublications3
Abstract: This study was carried out to assessed the prevalence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa on the recommended glasses of selected volunteers in Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Sagamu Campus. A cross-sectional survey of 100 selected volunteers comprises 43males and 57 females were examined. A total of 30 (30%) were found to have Pseudomonas aeruginosa on their contact lenses, of which 13(43.3%) of the isolates were pigmented and 17(56.7%) were non pigmented isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Eighty percent (80%) of the isolates were susceptible to ciprofloxacin, 63% to ceftazidime while 50% were susceptible to ofloxacin. The isolates were totally resistant to augmentin and ampicillin, while 97% resistant to gentamicin and 70% resistant ton nitrofurantoin were recorded in this study. Thus, ciprofloxacin and ceftazidime could be recommended for the management of Pseudomonas aeruginosa on contact lenses.

Clinical Safety and Side Effects of Intra Dermal regimen of Tissue culture Anti-rabies Vaccine-Rabies is 100% fatal but preventable disease. WHO recommends Tissue culture Anti-rabies Vaccines for post exposure treatment but this prophylaxis becomes expensive. So for reducing the 1/6th cost of this prophylaxis intradermal ARV regime was also recommended. But again there is a question mark for balance between cost effectiveness and safty so this cross sectional study was carried out in year 2013 on 654 recipients of Purified Chick Embriyo Cell Vaccine (PCECV) anti-rabis vaccine (ARV) at Anti Rabies Clinic (ARC) of a tertiary-care teaching hospital (SMS) at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Side effects were observed during the follow up visits on days 3, 7 and 28. Though all the recipients complained of local side effects at site of inoculation but these symptoms were relieved by simple administration of paracetamol and ceterizine orally. The side effects (local symptoms) noted on First dose were local itch (4%), local pain (3.8%), low grade fever (2.1%) and the local signs noted are local induration (22.3%), local erythema (1.2%). Same pattern of sign and symptoms were observed in D3 and D7 dose of injection but in decreased frequency. None of the cases had anaphylaxis or regional lymphadenopathy. Thus, this cost effective way of treating the animal bite cases using PCECV in Intra Dermal Rabies Vaccination (IDRV) is recommended to deal with the burden of animal bite cases for the prevention of Rabies in India.
Dr Patrick Treacy shares some of his most challenging cases. This month he talks about treating facial popular sebaceous hyperplasia. Sebaceous hyperplasia is a disorder of the sebaceous glands in which they become enlarged, producing yellow, shiny bumps on the face
