Eclipse Ireland is a family-run outdoor adventure and activity centre located along the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland. It offers nearly 20 land and water-based activities including horse riding, gorge walking, an assault course, and summer camps. The centre aims to challenge and engage guests of all ages and abilities through unique experiences designed to build teams and foster personal growth in a beautiful and relaxing setting. It is managed by husband and wife Athos and Anita, along with their son Sonny and marketing manager Iris, with the goal of ensuring all guests feel like part of the family during their time at Eclipse Ireland.

Mini Pirate Ship is the mini version of classic pirate ship amusement rides, used to serve children. The mini pirate ship, consisting of steel structure, 4 pillars converging at the top and a ship body, can be seated 8 kids. The passengers safety is guaranteed by lap bars on each seat.
Each year, The Southern Star publishes guides of “50 things to see & do” in towns across County Cork. Their recommendations combine well known cultural attractions in urban areas with gems located off the beaten track, which include ancestral sites alongside some of the country’s top birdwatching and surf spots.

Wellness G.I.F.T.S. Inc.is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that offers camping retreats to families who have a family member with developmental disabilities, living at home with their parents or caregivers. Respite, Recreation, and Rejuvenation are the three ‘R’s we strive to achieve. Our families enjoy a weekend camping resort experience in a same family friendly, atmosphere. Wellness G.I.F.T.S. Inc. provides a catered breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the families throughout the retreat. In the welcome bag that we give to families upon arriving are T-shirts that help our volunteers and staff (who also wear specific shirts) distinguish our campers from Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort campers.
Unlike many other camp programs, whose focus is primarily on the family member with a disability, Wellness G.I.F.T.S. Inc. focuses on the family unit. The idea is to take a holistic approach to strengthen families by offering education, respite, and networking opportunities. The connections and friends made during the family’s stay have a lasting positive influence when the family returns home. We understand that stronger families create stronger communities.

and his unique personality
always resonates with our

Wife to Athos and mom of
three (not to mention mom to
all the Campers), Anita is also
Eclipse’s Accommodation and
Camps manager. She is often
seen making sure that all
Eclipse guests are comfortable
and always gives them the
best tips for their holidays.
Athos’ and Anita’s son (we told
you we were family-run…),
Sonny is our Lead Instructor,
Survivalism enthusiast, and a
favourite amongst Hen Parties!
Sonny has youth, strength,
fitness and is an intelligent
creative thinker.
His enthusiasm for life and
adventure is the inspiration
behind many teams
aspirations to bond.
After three summers working
as the Centre’s assistant riding
instructor, Athos and Anita
realised they could not get rid
of this French girl so easily!
Upon completing her studies in
marketing & communications,
Iris joined the Eclipse team in
2015 as Marketing and Social
Media manager.

7. FUN FACTS
23 shoes have been reported missing in our Bog
(human shoes).
Our youngest rider was 3 years old, our oldest rider
was 72 years young!
Two student workers who met at Eclipse got married
last year, while Anita and Athos have been married for
34 years.
A 3 year-old child once thought that our miniature
pony, Sugarfoot, was actually a cow. But it’s ok,
because the same child thought that Wendy the
donkey was a goat… She was not entirely wrong!
7N corporate group thought Athos was joking when
he said they would have to return from their walk
through the river. He wasn’t. #bootcamp
110 is the biggest School Tour we have had at
Eclipse. We did not lose a single one in the Bog!
Staff also do the activities and also suffer Athos’
dreaded penalties
Stag Parties and Hen Parties often collide with
hilarious results…
Athos once made a girl Camper apologise to a tree
she had kicked in a temper. She ended up giving it a
big hug and is now the sweetest returning Camper!
Our Bog Run Challenge comes with a free mud mask
at no extra charge (both for guests and instructors).
