The survey found that: 1) 77% had heard of the Ebee campaign and over 87% were aware of the deposit, BYOB, and CLAYGO schemes. 2) Posters, email blasts, and Facebook were the most effective promotional methods. 3) Students understood Ebee promotes deposit schemes, BYOB, and CLAYGO, with deposit schemes perceived as the primary focus. 4) Efficiency of deposit systems and necessity scored 61% while cost scored 50% and acceptability scored 57% on scales of 1-5. 5) Over 80% did not bring own bananas while over 85% practiced CLAYGO and followed deposit schemes.

Prime Decision is a marketing strategy firm that uses behavioural economics. Behavioural economics studies actual human behaviour and decision-making, rather than the rational "homo economicus" model. People are bad at judging probabilities but good at frequencies. Behavioural economists have discovered many cognitive biases that influence decisions, such as framing effects, availability heuristic, and defaults. Prime Decision applies these insights to problems by developing behavioural strategies and experiments. Their approach targets specific behaviours, interrogates the problem through lenses like script, social and structure, then experiments to find effective interventions. They gave an example of reducing insurance fraud through subtle changes to the claims process designed to promote honesty.

It explores whether materials are distributed for free or at a cost, how pricing is determined, and how proceeds are distributed. How to motivate positive security behavior using gamification
This document outlines five steps to motivate positive security behavior using gamification: 1) establish a clear outcome and behavior to influence, 2) build a system to drive and measure that behavior, 3) start small with a test group to get feedback, 4) consider cultural differences for global scalability, and 5) optimize the program over time using employee feedback and metrics. Presenters will also discuss how programs are preparing families to transition off of time-limited rent subsidies.

The module uses videos, text, and quizzes to explain the SAP policy to its target audience of students at UH Maui College. It was formatively evaluated through expert reviews and usability testing with students. Evaluation results found that most students felt the module made the SAP policy useful and important, and would help them make better academic decisions. Most students also demonstrated an understanding of the key aspects of SAP policies after completing the module.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation.
