Ease of doing Business was one of the most important aspect under the union budget 2016-17 and this ppt presents the brief description about the budget related points.

2.  An estimate of Income and Expenditure for a
set period of time
 The Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on 29
February 2016 presented the annual financial
or the union budget for 2016-17 with the 9
Pillars on which Government will focus on in
order to transform India into a developed
nation.

 To remove the difficulties and impediments

5.  Creating a social security platform- Bill for
targeted delivery of subsidies,Benefits and
services using Aadhar Framework
 Introduce DBT on pilot basis for fertilizers
 Automation Facilities in 3 Lakh fair price shops
by March 2017
 Companies Act amendment to improve enabling
environment for startups
 Price stabilisation fund to help maintain stable
prices of pulses
 Nationwide rollout of ATMs and Micro ATMs
through postal network

6. “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”
This Programme will be launched to link states
and districts in an annual programme that
connects people through exchanges in areas
of language,trade,culture,travel and tourism.

7. There were 3 Initiatives announced to avoid
leakage in disbursement of government
subsidies:-
 A bill for targeted delivery of financial and
other subsidies(Benefits the poor)
 Direct Benefit transfer for delivering fertilizer
subsidies(Improved service delivery to
farmers)
 Automation facilities to 3 lakh fair price
shops(by March 2017)

8.  Focuses on ordinary people apart from the
corporate entities
 To promote “Make in India”the budget grants
residency status to foreign investors
 To remove irritants in their dealings with the
government
 Bringing this overarching theme in terms of
ease of doing business has been to minimize
government and maximize governance

11.  UNION BUDGET 2016-2017 promotes Make
in India”, the budget proposes to grant
residency status to foreign investors,beyond
the current practice of giving them a five-
year business visa
 This will surely increase the emotional
connect of foreign investors and make it
easier for them to set up manufacturing units
in India.

12. INDIA ranks 130 in ease of doing business(Acc.to World Bank
report)
 India jumps 12 places and ranks 130 out of 189 countries in
ease of doing business
 India’s performance improved under the head of ease of ‘access
to electricity', where it moved up 29 spots to 70. Ex:- Mumbai
 Getting credit had become a major concern for business
 It slipped one spot in the criteria of ease of paying taxes

13. The Budget is,overall, in the right direction
insofar as ease of doing business is
concerned.However,it is not an issue that can
be resolved through a single budget or
through a single action, but is a process and
a journey to which this budget contributes
significantly.
