Cath Kidston began her business by designing cheerful 1950s-inspired ironing board covers but has expanded into various home decor products featuring her designs, including radios, tents, and wallpaper. Her business has grown tremendously over the years from her starting with a small shop to now having an annual turnover of over £50 million.

her

children's
bedroom

her
cowboy
wallpaper.
In
her
own
room
as
a
child
she
used
to
play
at
keeping
shop.
These
days
her
business
has
a
turnover
of
more
than
£50
million.
"I
really
felt,
from
very,
very
early
on,
I
was
onto
something
with
the
notion
of
what
I
was
doing,"
she
says.
"I
remember
feeling
I'd
really
overstepped
the
mark
when
I
opened
my
second
shop
-­‐
thinking,
that's
probably
going
a
stage
too
far."

it
was
kind

my
dad
loved
playing
music.
I
think
of
my
parents
at
the
weekends
cos
that
is
when
they
were
both
around
the
most
and
I
wasn’t
going
to
my
school
or
whatever
it
was.
I
was
out
with
my
pony
and
my
sister
in
the
garden
and
I
was
hanging
out
with
grownups
and
we
had
a
swimming
pool
at
home
and
we
had
music
on
and
friends
and
I
just
and
this
is
so
evocative
of
that
kind
of
period.
