This document provides an overview of e-learning content standards and structures. It discusses the LMS standards of AICC and SCORM, and how SCORM content is structured with an imsmanifest.xml file and SCOs contained in folders. It also covers how AICC content structures the mastery score in the .AU file, common issues with incompatible characters or incorrect paths, and tools for testing, authoring, and packaging content.

LMS - eLearning Content Standards
 AICC (Aviation Industry for CBT Committee)
Evolved as first eLearning Content standard and based on the 4 Flat Files. Mostly used in the industry.
 SCORM 1.2 / SCORM 2004
Advanced eLearning Content standard based on XML files. Mostly used in the industry.

For SCORM Content:
Mastery Score tag in Manifest should be as below:

For AICC Content:
2) Mastery score should be added to the .AU file
We should give the Mastery Score in .AU file like below:

12. 05 Common Issues
1. When we extract the SCORM package the imsmanifest.xml should be in the Root Folder. This is must.
2. Still getting Error - Then open the manifest in IE and check till end of Manifest and ensure that there are no errors. If Error shown then
check the line num and go to manifest look for what is issue
Possible reasons are:
1) Any Special Characters /
2) We cant have &, >, <, ! as it is they should be treated with & - &amp; and etc
3. Still getting Error? - Then look this line in manfest under Resources Tag and check the pasth for index.html (Starting File for the
course)
For Ex: <resource identifier="SCO0" type="webcontent" adlcp:scormtype="sco" href="resize.html">
4. Still Getting Error - Check the imsmedata.xml is placed and path is given properly
5. Must and should we zip the files from insider folder where manifest lies:
1) Select all the files
2) Right Click - > Zip
6. OPTIONAL TAGS - We can Delete the lines which start as below in the Resources Tag. Remove till </resource>
For Ex: <file href="AC_RunActiveContent.js" />
1) Ensure there is no space between filenames for XML, if there pls remove and make changes in manifest accordingly
2) In content they put PDF's doc's...etc... and for them also no spaces and & - or special chars..... so better is always to remove the extra
unwanted resource tags ...except keeping the starting file tag...
