E-governance in India refers to the application of information technology to government processes. It aims to make governance smart, moral, accountable, responsive and transparent. E-governance provides benefits like cost reduction, revenue growth, and increased transparency. It covers services for children, students, youth, families and elderly citizens. These include services like birth certificates, education, employment, taxes, pensions and health care. E-governance has four pillars - government processes, people, technology, and resources. It can take forms like G2G (government to government), G2C (government to citizen), G2B (government to business), and G2E (government to employee).
