The Dua'a Al-Mashlool is a supplication taught by Imam Ali to a youth who was paralyzed for disobeying his father, in which the youth calls upon numerous names and attributes of God. The youth recited the dua and saw the Prophet Muhammad in a dream, who touched and healed him. Reciting this dua is said to bring blessings and fulfill desires according to Imam Hussein.
Imam Hussain and Imam Ali came across a paralyzed young man crying in repentance one night. The man, named Manzil Ibn Lahiq, explained that he had been cursed by his father and became paralyzed as a result of his sins of disrespecting and stealing from his father. Imam Ali wrote down a dua for the man to recite after evening prayers, promising it contained the "greatest name of Allah." The next day, after reciting the dua, the man was cured and saw Prophet Muhammad in a dream, who touched and blessed him. The document then shares the text of the dua, addressing many names and attributes of God.

Allaah is the one and only God. He is the creator of everything in existence, including humans, angels, jinn, heavens, earths, and all that exists between them. Allaah provides for all creatures and everything belongs to Him. To have Tawheed (monotheism) means to acknowledge Allaah alone as the Lord and Creator, to obey Him alone in worship, and to believe in all of His names and attributes without comparison. The document is a lesson from a book teaching young children about the core concept of Tawheed through simple explanations and questions.

Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 50 | Size: 1 MB
This small treatise from the noble Shaykh, Imām Sulaymān Ibn Nāsir Al-‘Ulwān, may Allāh free him, is both topical and relevant, concerning the current state of affairs which the Islāmic nation is now facing. And due to this fact, we found it beneficial for the many English speaking Muslims to read and perhaps learn and grasp its meanings. We have added several additional footnotes (with Trans. Note) in order to aid the translation, clarify certain points and lastly, to add additional evidences in order to make the issues that are raised, less ambiguous. We have also added an appendix to the text of the book with a short biographical account of the Shaykh and his background, in order to introduce the author to the English reader. We have summarized this from a larger treatise, which will be referenced in that section, In Shā’ Allāh. And we ask Allāh to accept this small effort from us and help it to benefit the young men and women of the Islāmic nation and be a source of inspiration for them upon the truth.

DUA'A AL-MASHLOOL (SUPPLICATION OF THE PARALYSED)
This du-a'a known as the "supplication of the youth stricken for his sin," is quoted from the
work of Kaf-'ami and from Muhaj al-Da-wat by Sayyid ibn Tawus. It is a supplication that
Imam Ali (as) taught a youth who was stricken by his sin and paralysed due to disobeying his
father and treating him with contempt. The youth recited the dua’a and went to sleep. He
saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny) in the dream, and he
gently touched his body with his hand and asked him to remember this dua'a as it contains al-
ismul a’azam (the great name of Allah). Then he woke up completely healed. Imam Hussein
(as) mentions that reciting this dua’a brings countless blessings, and through it all legitimate
desires are fulfilled. He further directs that one should only recite this dua’a in a state of
purity (after performing ablution).
