Minority Scholarship Notification
Minorities Development Department, Government of Maharashtra is offering the Scholarship for Students
pursuing Professional and Technical education /Post H.S.C. courses (Arts, Commerce, Science, etc.) for
Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Christian, Parsi and Jain minority communities.
Applications for Fresh Scholarship / Renewal of scholarship are invited through A) Online Application
System for Technical and Professional courses/ B) Offline form for Post H.S.C. courses (Arts,
Commerce, Science, etc.) from all eligible students for the academic year 2013-2014.
Eligibility :-
1. Applicant should be Domicile of Maharashtra State and passed S.S.C from Maharashtra.
2. Applicant should not avail any other scholarship / stipend.
3. The total annul income of family/ guardian should not be more than 2.5 lakhs.
4. For renewal, applicant must have admitted in the next year.
5. 30 % seats are reserved for girl students.
Documents to be attached along with the application form for fresh scholarship:
1. Photograph for A) Technical and Professional courses- scan photo copy of passport size photograph
that should be uploaded at the time of filling the application form and duly signed of student on photo
(i.e. on printed application form) and
B) All Courses after H.S.C. (Arts, Commerce, Science, etc.) One Copy of passport size photograph with
signature to be pasted on Application form.
2. Attested certificates of educational qualification (S.S.C.Onwards).
3. Income and minority declaration - affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of minimum Rs.10/-or income
certificate from the employer.(School leaving certificate can also be considered as proof of minority)
4. Proof of permanent residence- Attested copy of Domicile Certificate/Ration Card/Electricity
bill/Telephone bill/Passport/Election Card etc.
5. One photo copy of student’s own bank account passbook with clearly mentioned student’s name, IFSC
code, Account no. and also scan copy of same page of passbook should be uploaded at the time of filling
the application form (only for - Technical and Professional courses)
6. Advance Receipt of payment.
For Renewal of Scholarship only the income declaration and mark sheet of previous examination is to be
attached along with Application Form.

A) Technical and Professional :-
The professional and Technical courses Diploma / Degree in Engineering/Technology UG & PG ( B.E. /
B. Tech/ M. E. / M. Tech), Pharmacy ( B. Pharm / M. Pharm), Architecture & Town Planning (UG & PG),
Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Applied Art & Craft ( UG & PG), MCA, MBA/MMS, B. Tech
Agri, etc.

B) All Courses after H.S.C. (Arts, Commerce, Science, etc.) :-
Procedure for Submission of Application Form :
A) Technical and Professional courses :
The eligible aspiring candidates shall fill the Online Application Form by selecting the correct institute
name and code (contact to the Principal if institute name is not there) on website
www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/scholarships. At the time of filling of form, the system generate Application ID.
The candidate has to note down the Application ID and password for further use. The candidate should
take the printout of the Application form, attach required documents and submit it to the studying institute.
The student has to insure that his/her online filled application form is online scrutinized before the last
date of scrutiny of application form, if not then contact to the Principal before last date of scrutiny of
application form. Unscruitinized application form will not be considered for Generation of Merit List.
Procedure for Scrutinizing and Forwarding Application Form by Institute :
A) Technical and Professional :-
1. The institutes under Directorate of Technical Education :
Institute shall log on to the Online System as per the Institute Code and Password provided by DTE,
Online scrutinize the received applications, confirm the online application form through login and
issue the receipt of confirmation to the candidate and forward the scrutinized application form along
with generated online report with duly signed and stamp to the concerned Regional Office of Technical
Education and also upload scan copy of the same duly signed and stamp online generated report.
2. The institutes under other Directorates in Maharashtra :
Institute shall manually scrutinize the online filled application form and forward to the concerned
Regional Office of Technical Education for online scrutiny and submission. Institute has to insure (can be
checked by particular Application ID of candidate through website) about online scrutiny by the
Regional office within the due date.
3. The recognized institutes in India, but outside Maharashtra :
Institutes submit the manually scrutinized online filled application forms to the Nodal office,
Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai directly. Institute has to insure (can be checked by
particular Application ID of candidate through website) about online scrutiny by this office within the
due date.
Institute has to insured that there should not be any duplication of the same accepted candidate in
same scheme and
Institute has to check the filled fee details by the candidates, if wrong, correct it through edit option
and than finalize scrutiny. Institute will be responsible for incorrect finalize fee details or any other
finalize incorrect data.
Only Online Scrutinized Application Form by the institute will be considered for Generation of
Merit List.
All institutes has to keep one Xerox copy of online filled Application Form along with submitted
documents of candidates for further demanding if necessary
B) All Courses after H.S.C. (Arts, Commerce, Science, etc) :-
• The eligible aspiring candidates should download the application form from www.dirhe.org.in
,www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/scholarships and fill the complete information and submit it to the
concerned institute along with required documents. Institutes should submit the manually
scruitinized form of candidates to concerned Regional Office of the Directorate of Higher Education,
Pune. For details contact to the Directorate of Higher Education, Pune

Scholarship disbursement :
The scholarship shall be transferred in candidate’s own account; hence the candidate/ institute should
fill / update the valid bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code of that bank branch, Account No.) correctly.
In case of invalid bank details of the candidate the scholarship amount may be surrendered to the
Government. The student can open zero balance account in the Bank as per RBI guidelines. The
student should have insured that account should not be stopped before transferring the scholarship
amount.
