3. Scope of the upgrade project
• The upgrade of the SAP ISU system from version 4.6.4. to ERP6.0
is a technical upgrade only
• No new functionality will be switched on for the upgrade project
• A separate (Development & Test) upgrade landscape will co-exist
during the life of the project
• Production system changes are minimised during the upgrade
project as a result of a system freeze, to support the current design.
• No change to XML messaging
• No change to Hub systems See-beyond or SAP XI

Market message testing will be ongoing between using a test
MPCC, and the ESB IT competency centres for Networks and
Supply during the Regression testing and the Pre-Production
testing phases

6. Inter Participant Testing
• As agreed with Gemserv, IPT is not a requirement for this
project
• Informal message testing is currently being carried out between
the ESB IT competency centres for ESB Networks & ESB
Customer Supply
• The upgrade project will be upgrading the Market system test
environment on the 29th
January 2009
• There is a Market Testing Window available between 9th
to 27th
February
• ESB Networks would welcome other Market Participants to re-
test market messaging

7. Cutover Planning
• The cutover dates will be Friday 10th to Monday 13th April
• The step by step cutover plan to cater for the SAP ISU upgrade is
currently being developed with timing estimates.
• There will be 2 Dress rehearsals to validate and tweak the technical
cutover plan.
• During cutover, market messages send from Market Participants to
Networks will queue in the HUB until the system is restored
• Arrangements for data aggregation runs and meter reading
processing are currently being planned
• Contingency arrangements will be put in place over cutover to revert
back to the previous version, should we experience problems.
