Also worked on PCR detection and time of determination of citrus greening bacterium.
Assisted in the project on “ICAR Net work project on Prevention and Management
of Mycotoxin Contamination in Commercially Important agricultural Commodities
(Aflatoxin Problem in groundnut)” at Regional Agricultural Research station, Tiruapti.
During this project Screening tests for avirulent and virulent isolates of A. flavus and
mycotoxin estimation by ELISA and HPLC.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Developed Zinc Oxide nano micronutrient for plant nutrition.
Identified the two nontoxic Aspergillus flavus strains and nucleotide sequences are
submitted to the NCBI- Gen Bank.
Developed the fungicide tolerant mutant Trichoderma isolates against plant pathogens.
Developed the talc based bio formulations for eco friendly management of root-rot
diseases.
Isolated a novel marine fungi (Talaromyces verruculosus) that could efficiently degrade
polyhydroxybutyrate and nucleotide sequences are submitted to the NCBI- Gen Bank.
Bioremediation of lead toxicity
Developed methodology for Agrobacterium mediated Implanta genetransformation in
case of Groundnut plants.
Team member in developing first transgenic in the university viz., transformed groundnut
with the gene cry1F against Spodoptera litura using Agrobacterium method.
Team member in developing tissue culture protocols in Groundnut, Blackgram, redgram
and greengram.
Standardised a Thin layer chromatography based detection of Aflotoxin present in
contaminated groundnuts.
