Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of an extra chromosome 21. It causes cognitive delays and characteristic physical features. Some key facts about Down syndrome are that about 6,000 babies in the United States are born with it each year, meaning around 1 in 700 babies have the condition. It can be diagnosed prenatally through tests or after birth based on symptoms. There is no cure but treatments can help manage symptoms and promote development.
It is a well known fact that Down Syndrome is an incurable but proper medication can improve health condition and life expectancy. Down Syndrome article covers topics like Symptoms, Causes, Meaning, Facts, Types, About, Features, Information, Life expectancy, etc.

This PowerPoint was created for a presentation provided to health professionals at my local hospital. I would be happy to present this PowerPoint to any hospital in Queensland, or alternatively, I give permission for this PowerPoint to be used by others for future presentations for health professionals. It was designed to be delivered by parents of a child with Down syndrome. Please feel free to provide constructive feedback on the presentation.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2. Definiton
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by an
extra copy of chromosome 21. It impairs physical and
mental development and causes various physical and
mental disorders.
Extra chromosomes affect physical development in
many ways, including physical growth, facial features,
and cognitive abilities.
3. Symptoms
Down syndrome can cause a variety of physical and
mental symptoms, including low muscle tone, short
stature, flat facial features, and cognitive delays.
People with Down syndrome may also have vision
and hearing problems, heart defects, and other
health problems.
4. Cause
Down syndrome is caused by mutations in the
21st chromosome that result in extra copies of
that chromosome in some or all of the body's
cells.
This extra chromosome can cause a variety of
physical and mental disorders, depending on the
individual and the severity of the mutation.
5. Inherited
Down syndrome can be inherited from either parent,
regardless of gender. It is a recessive disorder and
both parents must carry the mutated gene for a child
to have Down syndrome.
It is estimated that 1 in 700 of her babies are born with
Down syndrome, making him one of the most
common genetic disorders.
6. Treatment
There is no cure for Down syndrome, but there are
treatments to relieve symptoms. These treatments
include physical, occupational, and speech therapy,
and medications to support physical and mental
health.
Gene therapy is also being investigated as a
treatment for Down syndrome, although it is still in
the early stages of research.
7. Diagnostic Tests
Down syndrome can be diagnosed prenatally or
postnatally. Tests to diagnose Down syndrome include
amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and
ultrasound.
Genetic counseling is also recommended to help
people with Down syndrome understand the impact
of the disorder and provide support and resources.
8. Frequency in the population
About 6,000 babies are born with Down
syndrome each year in the United
States. This means that about 1 in 700
babies will develop Down syndrome.
9. Article slide
Here are 3 interesting facts that I found, while conducting the research:
DS is the most common chromosomal abnormality diagnosed in the United States. About 6,000
babies (1 in 700) are born with DS each year.
Down syndrome is nothing new. In fact, the first evidence of its existence dates to 2,500 years
before him. DS facial features can be found on some old pottery and paintings. The syndrome is
named after the English physician John Langdon, who published his clinical description in 1866.
Doctors use maternal blood tests and ultrasounds to detect DS in early pregnancy. Because the
condition is more likely to occur in pregnant women over the age of 35, screening tests are often
recommended for this age group. More invasive prenatal diagnostic tools (such as amniocentesis
and chorionic villus sampling) can diagnose or confirm DS if a screening test
