This document discusses the design process for a magazine spread. The creator experimented with different layouts, starting with a double page spread using red and white colors. Columns were used to give a professional look over a straight linear format. Vinyl records were added to reference music and DJing but initially overwhelmed the page, so they were moved and opacity lowered to draw focus to the interview subject while still conveying the intended effect. The final design balanced the vinyl imagery successfully.

1. This is when I first started the double page
spread, I feel the white and the red work
well together.
I decided to have a little 2 line sentence
telling the reader where we are doing the
interview from and whats it is going to be
about
I followed the tradition route of having
columns in my magazine, I believe that this
works well and makes the magazine look
more professional and less like a book if I
had it all in a straight line
I decided as it was to do with DJ’ing and
music I would use some Vinyl records in the
magazine, I placed them here first to try and
give the effect of the vinyl’s falling from the
sky, but I could not get the effect I wanted,
the vinyl’s took over and the page too much
and you lose focus from Jack

well in the new postion, and by
lowering the opacity of the image it
gave the effect I was looking for
