It shows our clinical research work where we did 2D conventional planning and 3D conformal radiotherapy of three different sites and did their dosimetric comparison on the basis of defined guidelines.

2. Evaluate the dosimetric differences between
conventional plans and three dimensional conformal
simultaneously integrated boost (SIB) plans of three
different tumors i.e., Brain ,Breast & bladder
Objective
3. • For cancer radiotherapy the whole treatment of
curative intents is divided into different phases
depending on the histology of tumor.
• Total dose, fraction size and number of phases are
decided as per protocol.
• Used two treatment techniques
1. Conventional Plans 3D CRT
2. Simultaneously Integrated Boost Plans (SIB) 3D CRT
Introduction
4. • Total 30 patients of brain, breast and bladder were
selected.
• The primary physician contoured PTV1 and PTV2 in
axial slices.
• Prescribed doses.
• Brain 58/28 fractions.
• Breast 60/30 fractions.
• Bladder 64.8Gy/36 fractions
• Two conventional and one SIB plans of each patient
were generated.
• Analyzed target coverage organs at risk doses.
Methods
9. Conclusion
• SIB plans with three dimensional conformal
radiotherapy technique reduce overall treatment time
without compromising target coverage and increasing
organ at risk doses.
• However the fraction size was increased which may
cause to increase late effects.
• The further studies are required to evaluate late effects.
