4. NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
• This documentary is single stranded as it focuses on the subject of
dominos and their workers
• ‘A Slice of Life’ is also an open structure as ‘Dominos’ is still a running
business which is constantly changing and expanding.
• This documentary is also linear as it follows several peoples stories and
how they are progressing through Domino's.
5. CAMERA WORK
• Medium Close Up
– The is a medium
close up at the
tills this shows
how they interact
with customers.
• Wide Shot – This is a wide shot which
establishes the setting and shows the
audience Dominos and how it is set up.
• Different camera angles have been used
to show the audience what its like to
work at dominos and what the employees
do, this is a low angle side shot.
Shot reverse shot is used between conversations with
the manager and the rest of the crew. The camera is
closer the to crew members where as it is a medium
long shot when the camera is on the manager this
shows his significance.
6. MISE-EN-SCENE
• The balloons in this picture give
connotations of children and bright
colours which is inviting for customers
when they come into the Dominos
• This shows connotations of
community as the Mayor of the
town in the shot.
• In this shot, natural lighting is used making it
seem more real to the audience and shows
the workers day to day duties at Dominos
7. SOUND
• A voice over is used in the style of the ‘Voice of God’
• The voice over is male and he uses standard English.
• He has an authoritative tone which helps the audience to trust him and believe what he is telling
them.
• There is diegetic sound in the interviews
• There is also observational footage of chanting and clapping when the staff are at the Domino's
convention.
• Non-diegetic music that is quick paced is used to signify to the audience that it is stressful and
the staff run around frantically to get the best service and on time.
8. EDITING
• Interviews – The questions that
are asked in the interview are
edited out as this creates more
flow.
• The editing is slow although it
keeps the audience engaged as
the topics keep the narration
moving along
• Cutaways of observational
footage are used to cover jump
cuts where the questions have
been edited out.

10. GRAPHICS
• At the beginning of the documentary there
is a title that goes across the screen every
time it is on after a break.
• When the interviewee is speaking there
name and relevance is shown at the
bottom of the screen in the right hand
corner.
• The credits at the end of the documentary
are also graphics this refers to who helped
on the documentary with their name and
relevance.
• At the end of the documentary there are
graphics along with images of the staff
