services for retail sale, including marketing
strategies, display design, and discount offers.
 Merchandising is any practice which contributes to
the sale of products to a retail consumer.
 DOMESTIC
 Following are the three common process/ aim in both
global and domestic merchandise.
 Manufacture Market (wholesale)
 Market Retail store
 Store consumer
 Here the merchandise
take place from the
production unit to the
market directly.
 This is the first step in
merchandising .
 Wholesale market was
mainly focused by the
retailers and they are the
target buyers .
 The products are
renovated by them to
attract the customer
 Here the price fixing is
their main aim .
 This step deals with
various process to attract
the customer.
 This is the targeted end
of the manufacturer,
retailer and the designer.
 Value of the product is
valued .

the combination of
strategies a business
takes to encourage
customers to purchase
items in a retail store.
 Visual merchandising
 Visual merchandising
is a marketing practice
that uses floor plans,
color, lighting,
displays, technology,
and other elements to
attract customer
attention.
 Retail merchandising attracts customers to particular
goods and services in various ways.
 Retail merchandising includes activities and strategies
such as in-store design, the selection of specific
merchandise to match a target market, and the
physical and digital marketing of merchandise to
customers.
 The goal of retail merchandising activity is to support
a retail strategy that generates revenue for the retailer
and value for the customer.

 Garment merchandiser is like a bridge between
the buyer and industry.
 He has to look after every job like buying the raw
materials which is required to finish the product,
making the garment, finishing the garment, preparing
documentation and finally shipping.

starting from the fashion forecasting, design and
product development till to retail sales and this also
include production merchandising and retail
merchandising
