Dolphins are highly intelligent mammals that are often slaughtered in Japan. Dolphins can communicate complex information and consciously breathe, showing signs of self-awareness. Studies suggest dolphins have intelligence comparable to human toddlers. However, Japan kills thousands of dolphins each year, often herding them into hidden coves and brutally slaughtering them. Their meat contains high levels of mercury and is sold deceitfully as high-end fish, threatening public health. Killing dolphins damages the environment and should be stopped to protect these intelligent creatures.
