A. INTRODUCTION
The present work gathers data from various published sources for districts of Pakistan and presents a
comprehensive outlook. Generally, aggregate data is available, but in order to have a look at the
behavior of economic and social variables for a particular region there is no such collective source
which may meet the criteria. In this regard, most of the research studies can only limit to country level
observations and failed to analyze the baseline situation prevailing at the micro level. Current effort
will significantly fill this gap and present a single point where desired data is accessible. Apart from
that, this work will make it possible to know about various sources which are collecting disaggregate
data.
B. METHODOLOGY
Only the published and authentic sources for data collection are used in the study which is listed in
table 1. Poverty head count ratio is the proportion of population falling below the poverty line
(Clustered Deprivation Report). Education index covers four variables including access, attainment,
achievement and gender balance (Alif Alan Report). Some districts share common constituency so
there are more than one district under one constituency.

  • 7. 7 A. INTRODUCTION The present work gathers data from various published sources for districts of Pakistan and presents a comprehensive outlook. Generally, aggregate data is available, but in order to have a look at the behavior of economic and social variables for a particular region there is no such collective source which may meet the criteria. In this regard, most of the research studies can only limit to country level observations and failed to analyze the baseline situation prevailing at the micro level. Current effort will significantly fill this gap and present a single point where desired data is accessible. Apart from that, this work will make it possible to know about various sources which are collecting disaggregate data. B. METHODOLOGY Only the published and authentic sources for data collection are used in the study which is listed in table 1. Poverty head count ratio is the proportion of population falling below the poverty line (Clustered Deprivation Report). Education index covers four variables including access, attainment, achievement and gender balance (Alif Alan Report). Some districts share common constituency so there are more than one district under one constituency.
