Distribution methods are ways in which a movie is made available
to watch for an audience. These could include:
 DVD
 Blu-ray
 Cinema

 On Demand eg. Love Film/Netflix
 iTunes
 Triple Play

 TV
DVD
DVD-video is a video format used to store films on a DVD disc
ready for distribution. It is currently the most popular video
format in Asia, North America, Europe and Australia. As it is so
popular, film distributors tend to release their films on DVD’s.
The reason for this is because DVD disc’s are versatile and can
be played on a variety of different devices, these include:

 DVD Player
 Computer/Laptop
 Consoles eg. Xbox/PlayStation
Blu-ray
Blu-ray is a digital optical disc data storage format which has
been designed to replace the DVD format. Despite having the
same dimensions as a DVD disc, it offers 5x as more storage than
the DVD disc and can store up to 25GB on a single layer. Despite
the DVD being the most popular, the Blu-ray disc has evolved
over time due to the fact it provides a HD image. This is
apparent through the introduction of Blu-ray compatibility on
many different devices.
