What- Students with Autism have social challenges,
repetitive/restricted behaviors, trouble with their speech, and
nonverbal communication.
How we can help-
1. Reinforcement systems
2. Schedules/Routines
3. Visuals
4. Redirection back to task
5. Encourage playing and social interaction
Redirection
Learning Disabilities
What- Neurodevelopmental Disorder that impedes the ability to learn
or use specific academic skills (e.g., reading, writing, or arithmetic),
which are the foundation for other academic learning (DSM 5).
How we can help-
1. Provide examples/models
2. Review previously learned material
3. Extended time/think time
4. Prompt fade
5. Help their self-esteem and provide verbal praise
