CHECKING OF
ATTENDANCE
At the end of the lesson I can…
1. Identify dimensions according to job
requirements
2. Draw an object/shape using over-all
dimension
3. State the importance of dimensioning
REVIEW
What Line Am I?
Identify what
kind of line is
being depicted in
the picture
VISIBLE LINE CUTTING PLANE OR VIEWING-
PLANE LINES
SHORT-BREAK LINE DIMENSION LINE
SECTION LINE
1. What can you see in the
picture?
2. Do you see measurement?
3. What does these numbers tell
us?
Dimensioning-placing sizes and
related information on a drawing
Two types of Dimension
Size dimension – gives the detail
and over-all sizes of the object
Location dimension – merely
locates part or parts and features of
the object
Aligned Method
All dimensions are placed
aligned with the dimension
line and be read from
either the bottom or right
side of the paper.
DIMENSIONING
METHOD
Unidirectional Method
In the unidirectional
method, all dimensions are
read from the bottom of the
page as illustrated. This is a
new method.
DIMENSIONING
METHOD
Over-all Dimension
Indicates the over-all
width, height and depth of
an object
KINDS OF
DIMENSION
Detail Dimensions
provide size or location
information concerning any
feature or details of an object
other than its over-all dimension.
KINDS OF
DIMENSION
GROUP ACTIVITY
The class will be divided into five groups. Each group will be tasked to
make a simple drawing of their assigned object and will find its length,
width, and height. One representative from each group will present their
work on class.
Group 1- Book
Group 2- Cellphone box
Group 3- Lunchbox
Group 4- Shoe box
Group 5- Rubik’s cube
ACTIVITY QUESTIONS
1. How did you find the activity?
2. How many centimeters is the length, width, and
height of the object?
PRESENTATION OF
OUTPUT
1. Why is dimensioning important in building a house?
2. How can you relate dimensioning in dressmaking
GENERALIZATION
1. What is dimensioning?
2. What are the different kinds of dimensions?
3. What are the two types of dimensioning method?
I. Multiple Choice
1. Which of these is the process of describing the object by placing sizes and related information on a
drawing?
A. Dimensioning
B. Sectioning
C. Sealing
D. Tolerancing
2. This type of dimension merely locates parts of the object
A. Location dimension
B. Detail dimension
C. Over-all dimension
D. Size dimension
3. What type of dimension gives the detail and over all sizes of the object?
A. Location Dimension
B. Detail Dimension
C. Over-all Dimension
D. Size Dimenson
II. Draw an object that can be found inside your bag and measure
its height, width and length.
