CIOB in Doha, Qatar - ViCon BIM Introduction | 23rd October 2012HOCHTIEF ViCon
The "Introduction to BIM" was held at the CIOB Event on 23rd October 2012 in Doha, Qatar by Gunnar Godawa, Senior Project Manager at HOCHTIEF ViCon Qatar.
The session covered answers to the following questions:
- What is BIM?
- Why to use BIM?
- When to use BIM?
- How to use BIM
- Who uses BIM?
This document provides an overview of the Global BIM Management Certification Program. It discusses that BIM (Building Information Modeling) usage is growing rapidly worldwide and there is an increasing need for BIM Managers to oversee BIM implementation on projects. The certification program aims to train professionals to work as BIM Managers through collaborative, practical projects using different BIM software. It offers flexibility to work online at one's own pace and provides opportunities for international networking and job placements.
A BIM Execution Plan (BEP) lays out how building information modeling (BIM) will be implemented on a construction project. It describes how data will be generated and shared in BIM files, who is responsible for various tasks, and how the project will be executed according to milestones to ensure quality and prevent disruptions. As BIM adoption increases, having a BEP is important to make sure all parties are on the same page and working collaboratively throughout the project lifecycle.

This seminar discusses how information and communication technologies (ICT) have impacted the field of quantity surveying over the years. Quantity surveying primarily focuses on managing costs and budgets for large construction projects. While ICT has transformed many professions, quantity surveying has been slower to adopt technological advances, particularly in developing economies like Nigeria. The seminar aims to examine the current state of ICT usage among quantity surveyors in Nigeria's construction industry and increase awareness of ICT's role and benefits despite the costs associated with its implementation and use.

4D BIM model is created by adding one more dimension that is time to the 3D BIM model. Once the time is added, the 4D model will show the amount of time needed to finish each construction phase. Hence, the 4D and 3D BIM model helps to gain control over the two most difficult parts of construction- time and cost. All in all, it becomes obvious that 4D and 5D BIM is game-changer in the construction industry.

Speaker: Dr Wilson Lam
Building and Construction Industry represents a significant portion of the economic growth and GDP for Hong Kong SAR. Adoption of Information Technology solutions, Big Data solutions and modern technologies are becoming increasingly important for Small to Medium Enterprises in Hong Kong’s building and construction industry. This webinar was held on 21 April 2023.
With the changing landscape of construction industry in Hong Kong that requires to embrace the use of innovation and technologies, project management for Construction Industry stakeholders are facing the increasing needs and challenges to adopt examine, evaluate and suitably adopt different types of technologies to suit their project requirements or site contexts.
The latest development of Artificial Intelligence, including the hot issue in the global arena of ChatGPT gives many potential opportunities and challenges to project managers in the building and construction industry in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.
This webinar explored from the APM Knowledge base and Core Competence how to unlock these potential benefits of these IT or Big Data Solutions effectively in project delivery.
The CPD Talk also covered some research and case study highlights that discusses upon the use of “Con Tech” in Israel for future reference.

From 3D to 6D Managing the Information Labyrinth of BIM.pdfVincentPoon15
As the Building Information Modeling (BIM) concept continually matures and gains wider recognition as a crucial collaborative process within the building design and construction industry, the demand for BIM services from construction managers, architects, and engineering firms is on the rise. In response to this growing need, AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) firms are proactively investing in BIM technologies to enhance their capabilities across various project phases, including bidding, preconstruction, construction, and post-construction stages.
This presentation equips participants with essential skills and best practices for effectively managing BIM data throughout the entire project lifecycle. Through a series of scenario-based presentations and real-world case studies, attendees gain valuable insights into the seamless flow of BIM information from the initial design phases to ongoing building maintenance. Furthermore, this course emphasizes the synergistic potential of integrating specification writing seamlessly into the BIM workflow.
By the conclusion of this course, participants will have acquired a thorough comprehension of how BIM data evolves as it progresses through the design, construction management, and, ultimately, building operation and maintenance phases.

IRJET - Digital Engineering & Project Management for AEC Industry using BIMIRJET Journal
This document discusses how building information modeling (BIM) can transform project management in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. It defines BIM and integrated project delivery systems, and describes how BIM supports key project management functions like clash detection, constructability reviews, scheduling, cost estimation, and asset management. BIM aligns with the knowledge areas in the Project Management Body of Knowledge and provides benefits like improved collaboration, productivity, quality, and cost savings. However, challenges to implementing BIM include overcoming personal beliefs, technical issues, skills and training, legal procedures, and costs. The role of the project management office is important to effectively adapt to and support BIM implementation.

ChapterPM_1.pptx for the course project managementDerbewBirhanu2
This document defines key concepts in project management. It begins by defining a project as a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service, with defined start and end dates, funding limits, and that consumes resources. It then lists common examples of projects and types of projects. The document outlines the primary features of a project, including its lifecycle with distinct phases. It defines project management and its importance in controlling organizational change. Finally, it outlines the typical project management process and nine critical factors for project success.
Application of Building Information Modelling Software’s for Planning and Sch...IRJET Journal
This document discusses the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for planning and scheduling multi-story building projects. BIM allows architects, engineers, and contractors to visualize a building design in a 3D virtual environment and identify potential problems before physical construction begins. It integrates key project information, such as converting the 3D model to 4D by linking it to a schedule with time, or 5D by including cost information. Using BIM for 5D modeling can save time and reduce costs compared to traditional scheduling methods. The paper explores how BIM tools can help with design, visualization, cost analysis, scheduling, and monitoring building projects more efficiently.
This document discusses building information modeling (BIM) and its value. It begins by introducing BIM, describing the BIM process and workflow. It then discusses measuring the value of BIM implementation through return on investment. The document outlines the value of BIM at different levels from industry to projects. Finally, it discusses moving organizations to higher stages of BIM adoption through pilot projects and process changes.

Design an efficient and functional grow room for your indoor cultivation by installing a PVC grow wall. PVC walls are designed for easy and time-effective installation.
PVC panels have a non-porous and smooth surface that is crevice-free because of the tongue and groove interlocking. These panels effectively reflect light, making for a bright interior and enhancing the efficiency of artificial lights. A well-lit grow room will improve plant growth and assure better yield.
Furthermore, PVC panels are easy to clean and maintain. They need only a damp cloth and mild detergent for a clean and hygienic surface. Besides being resistant to chemicals, they do not succumb to the use of cleaning agents.
Opt for PVC panels for grow room wall material to improve the functionality of the space.
