3. DIFFERENCE OF WEB BLOGS IN AS & A2
In my AS year, I used the school’s MAC web blog to post my
written tasks which, were accompanied with various images and
links to make my work more interactive for those who were marking
my work. There were many limitations when it came to adding or
changing the appearance of my blog. This blog lacked in special
features such as tools enabling individuals to alter the
background, various font styles and widgets. With my Wix blog I
have been using for my A2 year, editing the appearance of my blog
and the way I displayed it was a lot more flexible due to the
amount of effects I could use such as changing the skin, adding
custom background images and many pages as a convenient way of
separating different tasks. This advancement developed my
understanding of presentation skills which was key to achieve in
my project his ear. I was able to embed presentations, and
YouTube videos to my Wix, whilst having a custom theme with
chosen colours, images and font which aided in getting the
persona of my artist across. Having to use this blog also allowed

4. AS PRODUCTION HARDWARE
My preliminary task was rather important as
it provided me with the foundations of the
rules needed to stick to when filming. I used
flip cameras to shoot footage for my
preliminary task, then went on to editing on
iMovie. The task taught me continuity editing
(match on action 180 degree rule etc.).

5. A2 PRODUCTION HARDWARE
In A2 the use of production hardware was more
complex as the flip cameras from AS were more
basic due to its lack of features. I used HD
Canon video cameras to film my music video
and so in terms of the digital technology in
this area has developed as I was able to do a
lot more things with the A2 production
hardware. I used the photo editing programme,
Adobe Photoshop which allowed my to
manipulate images I would go to use for my
anxillary tasks. Using the tools provided by
Photoshop, I was able to learn composition
and framing skills in terms of shot types.

6. PRODUCTION/POST PRODUCTION SOFTWARE
A2
I had to make a digipack and advert to
accompany my music video. Photoshop allowed
me to manipulate the images using a digipack
template and building layers of images and
text to achieve my final result. I was able
to apply my house style, use shadow effects
and crop tools such as the magic want to give
a more professional finish.

7. SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE A2
The use of digital video has enabled me to do film and
production similar to significant film companies, but on a
cheaper and more basic scale. iMovie a good example of this
as it is a popular software which allows me to use tools
which many of the features professional software for DV
editing offer. I edit my recorded footage on a timeline, and
this amplifies my knowledge of layering various video footage
and audio. I am also able to ad special effects such as green
screen (allowing me to change the background) and different
transitions between changes of clips, such as cross
dissolve, often seen in music videos. I was also able to
convert my footage. I used black and white effects throughout
and also changes the pace of several clips in order to match
the tempo of the music track. There were several ways to
transfer my footage to the computer. A SD card can be applied
from the DV to the computer and the use of a USB cable has
the same ability. the computer has a capture card to allow
for vast amounts of filmed data to be imported to the edit
suite
