Rachel Wexler Senior Honors Thesis Eating in the Underground - Voided Space i...Rachel Wexler
This thesis examines Feast, an underground supper club in Berlin. The author analyzes the invitation email from the owner, Suzy Fracassa, which emphasizes the temporary, exclusive, and social nature of the events more than the food itself. Fracassa portrays the space as remarkable and curated. Attendees are invited more for the atmosphere and community than the small, inexpensive dishes. The email suggests dining is secondary to participating in this rare, secretive social experience among connected friends. While promoting inclusion, the events also serve Fracassa's business interests. The thesis will explore Feast's contradictions and how it relates to Berlin's urban context and creative economy.

ING Annual Dinner Program: Is Freedom of Religion Becoming Fear of Religion?Islamic Networks Group
In an increasingly secular society, many people from younger generations are finding a tension between the secular assumptions of the world around them and their identity as adherents of religion. Fully one in four members of the Millennial generation – so called because they were born after 1980 and began to come of age around the year 2000 – are unaffiliated with any particular faith, are less likely to be affiliated than their parents' and grandparents' generations were when they were young, and currently attend church or worship services at lower rates than Baby Boomers did when they were younger. And compared with their elders today, fewer young people say that religion is very important in their lives. What is the future of religion in a world of growing secularism? Is freedom of religion becoming fear of religion, fear of asserting one's religious identity, or even a demand for freedom from religion? How can one practice an authentic pluralism that respects people of all faiths and of no faith? Navigating these questions is a difficult task in itself, and without safe spaces and support from others it is all the more difficult.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

The 2014 Christian Writer's Literary Festival (www.christianwritersliteraryfestival.blogspot.com) was
the fourth annual event of its kind sponsored by Christian Authors on Tour /CAOT
(www.christianauthorsontour.com). This day-long, literary experience offered the opportunity for
Christian authors to share their expertise, testimony and writing ministry in a setting that encouraged and
inspired Christian writers and Christian book lovers. It was and is always the last stop of any of CAOT’s
annual Christian book tours.
Authors who participated in the 2014 Christian Writer’s Literary Festival had opportunities to (1) sell
their books and/or products; (2) showcase their book ministries; (3) connect with Christian book lovers;
and (4) speak via open mike/author readings. Although the 2014 Christian Writer’s Literary Festival did
not include author panel discussions, it did provide opportunities for authors to participate in an open
mike session where they either read excerpts from their books or gave a brief overview about their
books. The 2014 Christian Writer’s Literary Festival was held at a new venue, the Downtown Cultural
Arts Center, located 401 N. Howard Street (21202); it offered the following benefits to attendees:
• Book Selling & Fellowship - The authors and vendor tables on the main level provides opportunities
for attendees to interact intimately (one-on-one) with authors and to obtain resource information
regarding writing as a tool for Christian ministry;
• Professional/Spiritual Development - The keynote speaker, the workshop facilitator, and the authors
shared from their hearts and their love for God
• Missions Outreach – Attendees donated three boxes of personal hygiene items to the Karis Home and
the Baltimore Rescue Mission. The donations were delivered immediately following the literary
event
