Digital law governs the legal use of technology and aims to protect users' rights and safety online. However, some people illegally share files, download copyrighted content, or hack without understanding applicable laws. Digital law has both positive impacts by enforcing security and negative impacts through unethical crimes like theft. Common violations include illegal file sharing, pirating software or music, creating viruses, hacking, identity theft, and copyright infringement. Students are advised to be responsible digital citizens by using antivirus software, avoiding suspicious emails or personal information sharing, and purchasing legal content instead of stealing.

2.  Digital law can be defined as the legal rights and restrictions
governing technology use.
 In today's world, many people are not responsible digital citizens.
 They are criminals, breaking the law, either knowing or not knowing,
what is appropriate or inappropriate technology use.

4. Social / Ethical Aspects
 Digital law has both a positive and negative impact on people as
individuals and communities as a whole.
 Digital Law sets laws to ensure safety and security online, and to
protect peoples rights.
 It comes either ethically or unethically.
 It is unethical as in a crime or theft. It is ethical when people abide
by the laws of society.

Consequences
 Illegal File Sharing - The sharing of files between people using
computers connected to the internet.
 File Sharing - This Website provides information on file sharing such as
what it is and the illegal use of file sharing.
 Downloading Copyrighted Music - This Website provides an
overview of downloading copyrighted music and the
consequences that can occur.
 Pirating Software - When software which has been duplicated and
distributed without authorization.

 Creating Viruses - A software program capable of reproducing itself
and usually capable of causing great harm to files or other
programs on the same computer.
 Hacking - Unauthorized use of computer and network resources.
 Stealing Someones Identity - When someone pretends to be
someone else in order to access their personal information such as
social security number, credit card, etc. in order to obtain resources
or benefits.
 Copyright Infringement - The act of violating any of a copyright's
exclusive rights given to them by the federal Copyright Act.

7. What does Digital Law mean to Us:
 Students should be responsible, ethical and legal while using the
internet
 Examples,
 Using better Spyware.
 Stronger Punishment* Everyone should know the clear
consequences of downloading music illegally, pirating movies
or creating a virus.
 Report a suspicious e-mail and don't open or reply to it.
 Report straight away if you suspect any identity theft.
