Differentiated instruction is important for tailoring teaching to meet the individual needs of all students. The success of each student should be the teacher's measure of success. An effective teacher ensures every student is taught in a way that works for them to learn without distraction. Differentiated instruction is shaped to each class and changes as the teacher learns more about students, since their abilities and needs may change over the course of a year.

Differentiated Instruction in the Classroom
Differentiated instruction is very important in the classroom for many different
reasons. Since no student will have the exact same needs as another, you have to be able to tailor
your instruction and style of teaching to accommodate all of the students in your class! I also
believe that differentiated instruction is important because the success of your students should be
your own personal gage of success as a teacher. So if you are able to tend to the needs of each of
your students, and help them succeed and be the best that they can be, then you will be very
successful as a teacher.
It is the job of the teacher to make sure that every one of their students is being taught in
a way that is effective for them, and enables them to learn without and distractions. Something
very important with differentiated instruction is that it is something that is shaped to the class, it
isn’t a one size fits all model, it is molded as you learn more about your students. Also, your
model is ever-changing. You won’t really ever be able to stop changing how you instruct
because students learning abilities, detriments, etc. will change as the year goes on. For
example, a student may struggle picking up concepts at the beginning of the year because they
aren’t ready for school to start, but as the year goes on, they are able to learn faster!
