- #13 Here is an overview of the Dynamics AX Retail solution components, at the head office level you have Dynamics AX 2012 with the feature pack installed and configured the users have access to the Retail components – from a system perspective at the Head Office level you have two critical components which provide an integration to the store systems. HQ Store Connect which enables the standard data flow from head office to the respective store for components such as Product Master, POS settings, Staff Information, Transactions , etc At the store level POS store Connect is installed to facilitate the hand shake and the communications with the Head Office for the data. The other component is Transaction service, Transaction Service provides each of the stores to communicate to the Head Office database to verify live information such as validity of ht egift vouchers, loyalty points check , redemption, Recalling a Sales Order for Pick up and delivery, customer account payments, look up of inventory etc You will notice the POS local in red, typically each of the stores have one or more POS terminals, where there is more than one pos terminals one of the terminals or the back office is configured with the main store database which communicates with the head office, and the terminals communicate with the store database. However if the pos terminal loses connectivity to the store database it operates in limited capacity to at least process sales transactions. Typically there is a Store Synch service running at the store level to synchronise the store database critical information to the POS local Database.
