The Diabetes UK Healthy Lifestyle Roadshow visits the most deprived areas in the UK, providing important information about how leading a healthier lifestyle can help reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
Soft drinks with added sugar increase the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Consuming too much sugar can cause unhealthy weight gain and fat buildup in blood vessels due to blood sugar level fluctuations. Excess sugar is also bad for dental health and can potentially damage the kidneys, eyes, and heart if intake is too high.
Diabetes Slideshow that I made when I was in Grade 10, talks about everything you would need to know about diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2).

All diabetics do not develop complications. If the blood sugar levels are carefully controlled, in both Types 1 and 2 diabetes, complications may never develop. But in order to achieve this, lifestyle changes that are consistently maintained are also necessary.
Enfield Annual Public Health Report 2016-DiabetesTha Han
Enfield's 2016/17 Annual Public Health Report is on diabetes. In a reader-friendly format, the report summarises useful statistics, best available evidence, case studies and best practices in the prevention and management of diabetes. The information in the report will empower residents in preventing diabetes, or living and working well with diabetes. Nonetheless, to reverse the tide of diabetes epidemic, collective action is needed to make healthy food and physical activity an easier, more affordable and more attractive option.
This document discusses diabetes, including its types, symptoms, causes, prevention, and facts. Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar due to either lack of insulin production or cells not responding properly to insulin. The main types are type 1, caused by destruction of insulin-producing cells, and type 2, often related to lifestyle. Symptoms include frequent urination, thirst, fatigue, and hunger. Prevention focuses on healthy eating, physical activity, and weight control. Complications can be reduced through proper treatment and control of blood glucose levels.
Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects over 422 million people worldwide and is a major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, and lower limb amputation. Between 2000 and 2019, diabetes mortality rates increased 3% globally. Diabetes can be treated through lifestyle changes like diet, physical activity, and medication to manage blood sugar levels and screenings to treat complications. The WHO aims to support prevention and control of diabetes, especially in low- and middle-income countries, through guidelines, standards, and awareness campaigns.
Diabetes is a chronic, metabolic disease characterized by elevated levels of blood glucose (or blood sugar), which leads over time to serious damage to the heart, blood vessels, eyes, kidneys and nerves. The most common is type 2 diabetes, usually in adults, which occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn't make enough insulin. In the past 3 decades the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has risen dramatically in countries of all income levels. Type 1 diabetes, once known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes, is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin by itself. For people living with diabetes, access to affordable treatment, including insulin, is critical to their survival. There is a globally agreed target to halt the rise in diabetes and obesity by 2025.
Type 2 diabetes is caused by lifestyle factors like lack of exercise, poor diet, obesity, and family history. People with type 2 diabetes cannot properly regulate their blood sugar levels due to insufficient insulin production or cells ignoring insulin. They must carefully manage their diet, exercise regularly, and potentially take medication or insulin injections to control their blood sugar and prevent serious health complications affecting organs like the eyes, kidneys, heart, and nerves.

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood glucose levels due to the body's ineffective use of insulin. The number of people with diabetes has risen from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014 worldwide. India has a large number of people with diabetes which is projected to increase further. T2DM can be prevented or managed through diet, exercise, weight control, and treatment of complications. The pathophysiology of T2DM involves decreased insulin secretion, increased glucagon secretion, increased hepatic glucose production and decreased incretin effect.
Diabetes occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or the body does not properly respond to insulin. There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 where the body does not produce enough insulin and type 2 where the body does not properly respond to insulin. If uncontrolled, diabetes can lead to complications that affect blood vessels and blood supply to organs, increasing risks of heart attack, kidney failure, and vision loss. The risk of developing diabetes is higher with obesity, family history of diabetes, older age, and among certain ethnic groups. Managing diabetes involves identifying those with diabetes or pre-diabetes, maintaining tight control of blood sugar levels, enabling self-management of the condition, and addressing lifestyle risk factors.
While talking about diabetes, you may be frightened from the idea that you may have it. Or maybe, you may have it in the future. You want to know if you are at risk to develop diabetes and anxiously you’re looking to find if you have any diabetes symptoms.
I have tried to create awareness about causes, types and symptoms of diabetes. As millions of people are sufferings from this disease, so this article will be helpful to control the sugar level.
Diabetes is a condition where the body does not properly process sugar due to insufficient insulin production or response. There are three main types of diabetes: type 1 caused by no insulin production; type 2 caused by insulin resistance; and gestational diabetes in pregnant women. Before developing type 2 diabetes, many people have pre-diabetes with higher than normal blood sugar levels. Symptoms include frequent urination, increased thirst and hunger, and fatigue. Risk factors include obesity, family history, and certain medical conditions. Diabetes is managed through lifestyle changes like diet and exercise as well as medication but cannot be cured. It poses serious health risks and is a major global health problem.

Lifestyle factors such as diet, obesity, smoking, and lack of exercise have a significant effect on health. Poor diet and lack of exercise are the main causes of rising obesity levels in the UK, where over half of adults are overweight. Obesity rates are higher among lower social classes and have increased health costs. Improving diet and increasing exercise levels are important for addressing health inequalities.
Diabetes is a group of diseases that results in high blood sugar. In the US, 9.3% of the population has diabetes. Lifestyle changes like exercise, diet, and stopping bad habits can help prevent diabetes. Managing diabetes involves monitoring blood sugar levels, being compliant with medications, and making lifestyle changes to control blood sugar and prevent complications. Different types of carbohydrates and artificial sweeteners can affect blood sugar differently, so it is important to research dietary choices.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
