Dan is a football player being evaluated on his strengths and areas for improvement. His strengths include speed, power, partnership with other players, and reaction time. He was rated highly in these areas by himself and his coaches. However, he needs to improve his arousal control, motivation, control of anxiety, and strength. He loses his temper easily and has issues with consistency in attending training. Controlling his nerves also affects his gameplay. While he wins most physical battles, increasing his strength could further improve his game.

Due: Monday, December 9 at 11:59 p.m. EST (Blackboard submission)
Directions:
Part One (this part) of your final exam is to be just that – yours! I expect you will work independently of your classmates to complete the exam.
As always in BUS 371, your grade will be affected by the quality of your writing – clarity, spelling, grammar, syntax, etc.
1. How has this course changed your view and/or understanding of management and its role in contemporary organizations? In your answer, compare your understanding/perception of management at the beginning of the class with your current understanding/perception. Be specific and honest. (10 points)
2. Would you describe your experience with your class team in BUS 371 as better than most of your experiences with previous class teams, about the same as most of your experiences with previous class teams, or worse than most of your experiences with previous class teams? Be specific and explain what happened with your team for you to form your impression. (10 points)
Depending on your answer to question 2, you will answer EITHER question 3 or question 4.
3. If your experience with your class team was better than most of your experiences with previous class teams, what do you think contributed to the positive experience? From what you’ve learned in BUS 371 this semester, what can you do, as an individual student, in future class (and workplace) teams to contribute to their success? Be specific in your answer. (If your experience with your class team in BUS 371 this semester was about the same or worse than your previous experiences with class teams, skip this question and answer question 4.) Be specific in your answer, referring to course material as appropriate. (10 points)
4. If your experience with your class team was about the same or worse than your experiences with previous class teams, what can you do, as an individual student, in future class (and workplace) teams to increase their success? Be specific in your answer, referring to course material as appropriate. (10 points)
5. What do you consider to be your most important “take aways” from this course? In other words, what concepts and/or ideas have you found most interesting? What elements of the course do think will be most likely to be useful to you when you become a manager?
NOTE: Be sure to include both what you’ve found most interesting and most likely to be useful from the course. (10 points)
6. Define, compare and contrast content, process and reinforcement theories of motivation, giving and explaining an example of each. How could a manager apply each of the theories in the workplace? Your answer should be specific and clearly demonstrate your understanding of these motivation theories and their application. (25 points)

READING ANALYSIS
Due Dates: See Course Syllabus
Objective: The goal of this project is to expose you to a variety of different writing styles and assist you in developing proficient reading and writing skills, while breaking up the monotony that comes from exclusively reading textbooks. By reading articles, you will indirectly be exposed to domestic and foreign events, the world of entertainment and sports, practical how-to articles, and products on the market, among many other interesting things.
Instructions: Throughout the semester, you will be required to critically read and analyze selected readings. You will then write an analysis of the reading selection, which must contain the following information (organize your analysis in this order and use the provided template):
1. First, read and annotate the reading selection. Be sure to note any main ideas and supporting details. Mark any new vocabulary words.
2. Complete the STRAP mnemonic (see template for what STRAP is)
3. Create a graphic organizer
4. Using the Template, type up your assignment using MLA format. The template can be found in the folder with this assignment. The analysis must include the following elements:
a. Create a graphic organizer that matches the organization/structure of the text
b. Type the STRAP information
c. Type a one page, two paragraph (250+ word) summary of the reading written in 3rd person - you must include:
i. The first paragraph is a discussion of the audience, the author's primary purpose, and tone (who or what and which details from the reading support your answers)
ii. The second paragraph is a synopsis of the main idea and key details
d. Type a three quarter page (200+ word) personal response written in 1st person to the reading. Consider the following:
i. Connection to text, self, and/or world
e. Type up Three EASY vocabulary words from new vocabulary terms used in the reading

Defecation
Normal defecation begins with movement in the left colon, moving stool toward the anus. When stool reaches the rectum, the distention causes relaxation of the internal sphincter and an awareness of the need to defecate. At the time of defecation, the external sphincter relaxes, and abdominal muscles contract, increasing intrarectal pressure and forcing the stool out
The Valsalva maneuver exerts pressure to expel faeces through a voluntary contraction of the abdominal muscles while maintaining forced expiration against a closed airway. Patients with cardiovascular disease, glaucoma, increased intracranial pressure, or a new surgical wound are at greater risk for cardiac dysrhythmias and elevated blood pressure with the Valsalva maneuver and need to avoid straining to pass the stool.
Normal defecation is painless, resulting in passage of soft, formed stool
CONSTIPATION
Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. Improper diet, reduced fluid intake, lack of exercise, and certain medications can cause constipation. For example, patients receiving opiates for pain after surgery often require a stool softener or laxative to prevent constipation. The signs of constipation include infrequent bowel movements (less than every 3 days), difficulty passing stools, excessive straining, inability to defecate at will, and hard feaces
IMPACTION
Fecal impaction results from unrelieved constipation. It is a collection of hardened feces wedged in the rectum that a person cannot expel. In cases of severe impaction the mass extends up into the sigmoid colon.
DIARRHEA
Diarrhea is an increase in the number of stools and the passage of liquid, unformed feces. It is associated with disorders affecting digestion, absorption, and secretion in the GI tract. Intestinal contents pass through the small and large intestine too quickly to allow for the usual absorption of fluid and nutrients. Irritation within the colon results in increased mucus secretion. As a result, feces become watery, and the patient is unable to control the urge to defecate. Normally an anal bag is safe and effective in long-term treatment of patients with fecal incontinence at home, in hospice, or in the hospital. Fecal incontinence is expensive and a potentially dangerous condition in terms of contamination and risk of skin ulceration
HEMORRHOIDS
Hemorrhoids are dilated, engorged veins in the lining of the rectum. They are either external or internal.
FLATULENCE
As gas accumulates in the lumen of the intestines, the bowel wall stretches and distends (flatulence). It is a common cause of abdominal fullness, pain, and cramping. Normally intestinal gas escapes through the mouth (belching) or the anus (passing of flatus)
FECAL INCONTINENCE
Fecal incontinence is the inability to control passage of feces and gas from the anus. Incontinence harms a patient’s body image

Medical Technology Tackles New Health Care Demand - Research Report - March 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) predicts that with, against, despite, and even without the global pandemic, the medical technology (MedTech) industry shows signs of continuous healthy growth, driven by smaller, faster, and cheaper devices, growing demand for home-based applications, technological innovation, strategic acquisitions, investments, and SPAC listings. MCG predicts that this should reflects itself in annual growth of over 6%, well beyond 2028.
According to Chris Mouchabhani, Managing Partner at M Capital Group, “Despite all economic scenarios that one may consider, beyond overall economic shocks, medical technology should remain one of the most promising and robust sectors over the short to medium term and well beyond 2028.”
There is a movement towards home-based care for the elderly, next generation scanning and MRI devices, wearable technology, artificial intelligence incorporation, and online connectivity. Experts also see a focus on predictive, preventive, personalized, participatory, and precision medicine, with rising levels of integration of home care and technological innovation.
The average cost of treatment has been rising across the board, creating additional financial burdens to governments, healthcare providers and insurance companies. According to MCG, cost-per-inpatient-stay in the United States alone rose on average annually by over 13% between 2014 to 2021, leading MedTech to focus research efforts on optimized medical equipment at lower price points, whilst emphasizing portability and ease of use. Namely, 46% of the 1,008 medical technology companies in the 2021 MedTech Innovator (“MTI”) database are focusing on prevention, wellness, detection, or diagnosis, signaling a clear push for preventive care to also tackle costs.
In addition, there has also been a lasting impact on consumer and medical demand for home care, supported by the pandemic. Lockdowns, closure of care facilities, and healthcare systems subjected to capacity pressure, accelerated demand away from traditional inpatient care. Now, outpatient care solutions are driving industry production, with nearly 70% of recent diagnostics start-up companies producing products in areas such as ambulatory clinics, at-home care, and self-administered diagnostics.

Developments and strengths
1. Unit 27
Task 2 – Performance Strengths and
Areas for Improvement
2. Strength 1/4
• Excellence Trait: Speed
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Speed is the distance covered in a certain amount of time. Speed is
important for Dan to have as he needs to be able to take the ball past
defenders to either cross the ball in or shoot. Without speed Dan
would never be a threat in his position.
Speed is one of Dan’s strongest traits as myself and his coach have
both rated him highly for it. I rated him at a 9 out of 10 which is in
between the standards of Sussex and English schools. So for this trait
he would in my opinion be able to compete at those levels. Dave rated
an at 8 out of 10 therefore he believes Dan’s speed would fit in with a
County level of football. Dan rated himself at 9 as he thinks that it is
one of best traits.
Describe: Give a detailed account of something
Explain: Give a detailed account to give the meaning of something with reasons. Include the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of the topic of interest
Critically Analyse: Give your opinion of the subject of interest – consider all of the evidence and then write about both the advantages and
disadvantages
3. Strength 2/4
• Excellence Trait: Power
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Power in football would be how hard you can kick a
football. It’s a very important trait as when you’re
shooting If you put a lot of power into a shot it makes it
extremely hard for a keeper to save the shot.
Power is one of Dan’s best traits as me and Dave both
rated Dan’s power trait as a 9, this is because he can
strike the ball very hard and keeps his shots on target as
well. Dan also rated himself as a 9 for power trait so I
think we have all made a very accurate judgment as well
all agree with each other.
4. Strength 3/4
• Excellence Trait: Partnership of Units
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Partnership of units different positions on a football pitch
link up. Dan partners well with his forwards as he knows
that if he can beat the right back and put a cross into the
box there will be one of strikers in the box to finish his
cross. Also Dan works hard to work back and help his
defence out when they are in trouble and need extra
support. For this reason I gave Dan a rating of 8 out of 10
and Dave gave him a 9 out of 10. Dan also rated himself
an 8 out of 10. This shows we all think that this trait is
one of Dan’s strengths.
5. Strength 4/4
• Excellence Trait: Reaction Time
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Reaction time in football is how quickly Dan can react to what's going
on around him. So if Dan is in the box when a corner comes in and the
ball get deflected and is loose in the 16 yard box he needs to be able to
react quickly so he can shot or pass the ball into an even better goal
scoring position. Or it could be the other way round he may be
defending a corner and the becomes loose he will want to clear the
ball as quickly as possible.
Both me and Dave rated Dan an 8 out of 10 for this trait as his reaction
times are very sharp. Dan also rated himself an 8 which highlights the
fact that we all agree and this is very accurate as it comes from 3
peoples opinions.
6. Development Area 1/4
• Excellence Trait: Arousal Control
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Arousal control in football would be how well Dan keeps his cool
during the match as he doesn’t want to be over aroused that he causes
himself injury or gets himself sent off.
I have watched Dan play football for a few years now and one of his
weaknesses is loosing his temper during matches and will kick out if
someone winds him up. This is why I rated Dan’s arousal control at a 3
which is really bad. Dave rated Dan’s arousal control at a 6 and I would
presume that this is because Dave has only been Dan’s manager for a
year and Dan has obviously not lost his temper as much. Dan rated
himself at a 2 as he does know that he is bad at this trait and needs to
improve it if he is going to get anywhere in his footballing career.
7. Development Area 2/4
• Excellence Trait: Motivation
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Motivation in football would be wanting to get into the
starting 11, wanting to score goals or play your best for
example.
I rated Dan’s motivation at a 7 because when he was on the
pitch he was trying really hard to play the best possible role
for his team to help them get the advantage over the other
team. Dave rated Dan’s motivation at a 3 and this was because
Dan has missed training session or been late to them several
times and also he has missed games just through ‘not feeling
up to it’. Dan rated his motivation as a 7 so this is defiantly
something he needs to work on to improve.
8. Development Area 3/4
• Excellence Trait: Control of Anxiety
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Control of anxiety in football would be letting nerves get the
better of a player. So for example this may make players play
poor sloppy passes as they are nervous or when taking a
penalty may miss the target due to the pressure becoming too
much.
I rated Dan’s control of anxiety at a 4 because when I went to
see him play he didn’t seem that confident and would try a lot
of easier passes and wouldn’t always try and beat his man.
Dave rated him at a 5 and Dan rated himself at a 6 so this
would definitely be one of Dan’s weaknesses.
9. Development Area 4/4
• Excellence Trait: Strength
• Describe / Explain / Critically Analyse:
Strength in football would be how well a player can
keep the ball without getting nudged off it. Or in a
50/50 battle how well they hold themselves against
the opposition.
I rated Dan as a 6 for strength because when I went
to see him play I would say he won 60% of his
50/50 battles against the opposition. Dave rated
Dan at a 4 and Dan rated himself at a 6 so this is
definitely a trait he needs to work on.
