Our V12 2 stroke diesel, based off of the famous 12V92 Detroit Diesel was a
successful project. We took this legendary base and added modern upgrades for
performance and efficiency. This included modified heads to create dual
overhead cams, and a mechanical inline injection pump for performance. This also
needed a redesign and upgrade of the intake and supercharging system to allow
for more flow of air into the engine. A 2 stroke Diesel does not have intake valves,
but intake port and utilizes a supercharger to force air into the cylinder.
Group Effort
In order to successfully build our project, it took many hours fromeveryone in our
group to make each and every part with precision and detail to ensure that they
could all mesh together and work as a whole. Our group worked efficiently to
complete parts and have them assembled into a working simulated engine in the
short 5-week period. After many back and forth conversations, emails and
messages discussing what our next item on the projects to do list will be, we have
successfully completed our engine on time and can say that we are extremely
proud of all of our work.

Our projects inspiration came from a
12V 92 Detroit Diesel. We wanted to
take something so big and with so
much detail and make it our own. We
did this by adding our own personal
touches.
Designing our parts took up most of
the time. We had started by designing
basic parts such as the block, cam
shafts, crankshaft and pistons.
After the basics of our 2-stroke diesel
were made we had designed different
accessories that would increase
engine performance such as
supercharger, fuel injection pump and
fuel filter.
