III. Procedure:
Teacher’s Activity
Good morning everyone!
Who absent today?
Very good!
Before we start, please pick the pieces of papers scattered around. It’s always good to
start with a clean surrounding.
A. Review
Last meeting, we discussed the different classification of salads according to their
ingredients.
Can you still remember them?
Very good! Can you tell the class what are those classification of salad?
Very good!
C. Presentation
A. Activity
(Jigsaw puzzle)
Before we proceed to our next topic, we will be having first an activity.
I will group you into 3, each group will be given an envelop, inside are pieces of paper
which when connected properly will come up with a picture that is related to our lesson
for today.
Remember, this is a group work therefore everybody should cooperate for a better
grade. You are given 3 minutes to do this and while you do it please minimize noise.
When you are done, post on the board your work. Did you understand class?
Your time starts now.
(After 3 minutes) Time is up! You may now paste you work on the board.

Why do you think it is the main part of salad?
Exactly!
What you call the liquid or semi liquid added to the salad to make it tastier?
Very good!
What else is the effect of the dressing to the salad?
That’s correct! It gives the salad it flavor.

Yes Mary Ann.
What is garnish?
Why it should be edible?
Correct!
What then are the examples of garnish that we can add to our salad?
Very good!
When preparing salad what are the nutritional value that we can find to the
ingredients?
D. Application:
On your same groupings, you will be given a picture of a plated salad and you are
going to label its parts. This is group work so everyone should cooperate. You are
given only 2 minutes to do the activity.
One representative from your group will come in front to present your work.
Your time starts now!
(After 5 mins.) Times up! You may paste your work on the board.

  • 1. DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TLE – COOKERY 9 I. Objectives: A. Content Standard: The knowledge, skills, and attitudes required in preparing salad and dressings. B. Performance Standard: Independently prepare salad and dressing. C. Learning Competency: Identify the component of a salad. II. Subject Matter: Components of Salads-ingredients Learning Resources: LM in Cookery 9 Laptop, LCP projector III. Procedure: Teacher’s Activity Good morning everyone! Who absent today? Very good! Before we start, please pick the pieces of papers scattered around. It’s always good to start with a clean surrounding. A. Review Last meeting, we discussed the different classification of salads according to their ingredients. Can you still remember them? Very good! Can you tell the class what are those classification of salad? Very good! C. Presentation A. Activity (Jigsaw puzzle) Before we proceed to our next topic, we will be having first an activity. I will group you into 3, each group will be given an envelop, inside are pieces of paper which when connected properly will come up with a picture that is related to our lesson for today. Remember, this is a group work therefore everybody should cooperate for a better grade. You are given 3 minutes to do this and while you do it please minimize noise. When you are done, post on the board your work. Did you understand class? Your time starts now. (After 3 minutes) Time is up! You may now paste you work on the board. C. Analysis How did you feel about the activity that you have just done? Why do you think, I asked you to arrange the puzzle? Exactly! What do you think is our lesson for today?

What is the common vegetable use for the base of salad? Very good! How about the body of salad? Very good! Why do you think it is the main part of salad? Exactly! What you call the liquid or semi liquid added to the salad to make it tastier? Very good! What else is the effect of the dressing to the salad? That’s correct! It gives the salad it flavor. Who can give the last component of salad? Yes Mary Ann. What is garnish? Why it should be edible? Correct! What then are the examples of garnish that we can add to our salad? Very good!
  • 3. When preparing salad what are the nutritional value that we can find to the ingredients? D. Application: On your same groupings, you will be given a picture of a plated salad and you are going to label its parts. This is group work so everyone should cooperate. You are given only 2 minutes to do the activity. One representative from your group will come in front to present your work. Your time starts now! (After 5 mins.) Times up!
