This document discusses various strategies for securing web applications, including: implementing content security policies, anti-cross-site request forgery measures, secure credential storage, security frameworks, and disabling password autocomplete. It notes that retrofitting security measures can be difficult after a site has been developed, as it may require changes across many files and features. The document recommends building security best practices into websites from the start.
The stakeholder wants to experience the job of an architect because they do not know the required skills. Some ideas presented to address this include:
1) Doing internships in architect offices for the entire period of study to learn directly from practitioners while working on real projects.
2) Using role-playing games instead of traditional lectures, where students take on roles like architect, investor, and inhabitant to learn through a gamified process focused on peer reviews and real factors that influence architects.
3) Spending the first year observing how people interact with buildings and taking notes, to learn design thinking methods.

The document discusses the role of universities in entrepreneurship education. It notes that universities are responsible for developing students' skills to meet the needs of businesses and entrepreneurship. However, the current education system focuses too heavily on theory over practical skills. This does not adequately prepare students for careers in business and entrepreneurship. There is a need for universities to reform their curricula and place greater emphasis on experiential learning to better support the development of student entrepreneurs.

1.)Describe the changes that you believe colleges will need to make over the next 3-7 years to adapt to the following groups in order to be effective in facilitating emotional, physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual development: Homelanders, Millenial students, and Adult learners. In the next few years colleges will need to change to the learning styles of new generations such as Homelanders, Millenial students, and adult learners. Virtual assistants, flipped classrooms and the quantified self are three of the six technological developments that will have a significant impact on higher education within the next five years. Instructors have presented information by lecture since Socrates to the benefit only of linguistic learners. If you're visual or hands-on you've been teacher disabled. Helping students learn according to their learning styles and multiple intelligence preference is finally becoming accepted as an instructional strategy. Many students naturally learn how to learn when they realize they learn better from one resource or strategy over another. For many learners, this concept is too refined or it flies in the face of the teacher authority. Young children like to learn with hands-on methods, but the system quickly moves them to learn by listening. Parents try to help by pointing to smart students and suggesting that their offspring emulate the learning strategies that work for others. Following the path set by others won't work. In fact, we all learn differently. It's a wise parent and facilitative instructor who realizes this and helps the student identify their strategies to meet it. As we work extensively in technology, we see that learners now have access to a variety of instructional strategies. In many cases, the learner selects the path to the strategy. The search for knowledge becomes the learner's intrinsic reward, rather than an extrinsic reward provided by external authority. This may make the learner more motivated because they find it easier to learn. Research in learning technologies may eventually show us that students learn more quickly and deeply so that they apply the information and solve problems. A school can be in the worst neighborhood, but a satellite dish on the roof and fast Internet access on ten classroom computers, positively impacts learning. It could be that we're saving generations of children. Many learning style models exist; my favorite is Albert Canfield's. It has a strong research base, uses clear language, reports in percentiles, and helps stude.
The document discusses important questions for potential college students to consider regarding career preparation and readiness for the workforce. It emphasizes that a college degree alone is not enough, and students should see "career" as an action verb requiring adaptability. It stresses gaining experience through internships or co-ops to be able to demonstrate to employers how one's skills solve their problems. The document also notes that many future jobs have yet to be created and an entrepreneurial mindset is important for navigating rapid changes in technology and the global economy.
The document discusses issues around nurturing talent in the hospitality industry. It argues that while the talent and skills of new entrants are good, the industry may not be doing enough to develop and support this talent. Specifically, it points to two key issues: 1) the gap between hospitality education and industry which limits opportunities for real-world experience, and 2) how the industry develops and mentors new talent once they enter the workforce. It calls for greater collaboration between education and industry to better prepare students for careers and allow them to gain experience through programs like internships and mentorships.
Jane is an HR director who helps students transition from school to work. She finds that students lack soft skills like communication, teamwork, and accountability. Schools focus too much on hard skills and not enough on preparing students for the professional world. Her company addresses this through mentorship programs, orientations, and internships to develop students' soft skills and understanding of workplace culture. However, schools need to better integrate professional training to ease students' transition to the workforce.
Schools need to better prepare students for the real world of work. They should offer more courses directly related to students' chosen fields to teach relevant job skills. People skills courses would also help students learn how to communicate professionally and work as part of a team. Additionally, living standards courses could teach students how to budget, pay bills, and maintain a schedule in order to succeed in the workplace and be responsible members of society. Preparing students for the demands of the workforce in these areas would increase their chances for success after completing their education.

The document discusses the forces of change impacting higher education, including rising costs, employer demands for skills, and new technologies. This is creating new competitive pressures and models of education delivery outside traditional universities. To evolve, universities must use technology to enhance teaching and learning, moving beyond just adding technology to courses. This may require new institutional structures that support more flexible models of instruction delivery across time and place, including hybrid online/in-person courses. A successful transition requires investment in new technological and administrative infrastructure to support changing faculty and student needs.
1) Ensure graduate connectivity with alma mater. This would provide existing students with information about industries and support for past graduates.
2) Present awards for non-academic activities to encourage leadership, social empathy, and creativity and demonstrate well-rounded skills to employers.
3) Cultivate the right attitude in students through talks, coaching, and activities to help them succeed in the working world.

The document discusses the traditional path from education to employment and whether it still makes sense. It presents perspectives from a stakeholder who believes:
1) Education is important for developing critical thinking and interpersonal skills, but incorporating some vocational preparation would benefit students.
2) Workplace experience can give students a realistic understanding of careers and help them mature, but personal development in school is important so students are not consumed by their jobs.
3) Students need opportunities to gain skills holistically across cognitive, critical thinking, interpersonal and practical domains in a safe learning environment.

The document discusses who is responsible for students' failure in the education system. It argues that blaming only teachers is misguided, as there are many other factors contributing to failures. These include privatization of education, lack of investment in teaching as a profession, focus on testing over learning, lack of parental involvement, and societal devaluing of education. The failures lie with numerous groups, including administrators, management, teachers, students, parents, and society as a whole. Improving the education system requires effort and accountability from all parties rather than blaming only one group such as teachers.

1. Go to school, get your degree, get a job.
Does this traditional path from education to
employment make sense today ?
The challenge is to redesign
the school-to-work transition.
2. Does the process work well?
◦ Depends on what the employer is looking for.
◦ Current process (degree) shows student is able to
commit and has adequate knowledge for specialist
occupations (eg medicine, engineering) but still
need hands-on skills.
◦ Most jobs require the ability to research, be
creative, problem solve, communicate, and
collaborate. These are skills not always learnt in the
school/university environment.
3. How can this be done?
◦ Requires lots more industry input
◦ Students need to be dabbling with issues in the
real world
◦ Current system doesn’t teach the complete skill
set needed to go from student to employee.
What skills are these?
◦ Real people social skills,
◦ Ability to cope mentally (being able to deal with
demands, knock backs and failures).
4. What needs to happen to help the process
change?
◦ Industry placement. Allow students to have
experiences in the real world.
Do you see any issues with this?
◦ Not all parts of the system are willing to change to be
able to meet the needs of the future global citizen.
◦ Universities and Schools need to be more open and
get involved with industry (possibly through
partnerships)
◦ May need to get government to incentivise or legislate
to bring parties together.
5. Current process is OK but not great
Real life skills needed.
Special skills needed in being able to work
with people you don’t know, maybe don’t
like.
Students need a different social skill set to
participate with industry then they get at
school.
6. Government involvement may be seen as “big
stick”
Maybe government could lead by example.
The 3 systems: schools, universities and industry
currently work like “siloed departments” within
poorly run companies.
7. Industry needs to see this as future
revenue/profit.
Industry could see this as a community /
philanthropy exercise.
Message that says “companies who use the
new partnership with education facilities are
likely to be more successful”.
8. Industry is too busy surviving and trying to
make profits to integrate into the education
system – need to see an advantage in this
to proceed.
There is the beginning of the “new world”
starting with universities and industry
partnering. Not yet there with schools.
This process needs to be seen as a win, win
for all involved.
9. My stakeholder is a thought leader within the
school system who is passionate about
teaching beyond the subjects. They see
education as moulding students who are
resilient, independent and skilled at adapting
to the real world no matter where they go in
their life.
They need a way to provide students with
experiences that provide the additional skills
obtained through real life experiences that will
ensure students are able to cope with
confidence, both work wise and personally.
10. In doing this we will
Create students who will easily adapt to the
workforce.
Have students that are valued by industry.
Have students that are able to feel they are
contributing, which will have health benefits for
them and also to the economy of the country.
Have an industry that will be seen as
contributing to their community by coaching
and expanding the horizons, and experience of
future employees and those in the community
around them.
