Describe the construction of a variable voltage divider.
Solution
A variable voltage divider can be constructed using a voltage source ,a resistor and a variable
resistor. let the resister and a variable resister be R and X respectively. And a voltage source V.
According to Ohm\'s law, V=IR implies that, Voltage is directly proportional to the resistance,
hence if resisters are connected in series, voltage is divided across the resisters direct
proportionally.
Hence, connecting R and X in series with voltage source V, we have..
VR=IR and VX=IX,
where, I is the current flowing in the circuit, VR is the voltage across resistance R and VX is the
voltage across variable resistance X.
Hence , voltage V is divided into VR and VX depending upon the variable resistance X
according to the following equation
VX/VR=X/R,
Hence , by varying X we can divide voltage V accordingly....
Describe the conventional Liquid phase (waste water treatment) treat.pdf
1. Describe the conventional Liquid phase (waste water treatment) treatment process.
thank you.
Solution
The conventional liquid phase treatment process is the one of treatment process and will have
thedifferent steps of treatment process
a)Preliminary treatment plant
b) Primary treatment plant
c) Secondary treatment plant
d) tertiary treatment
e)Disinfection
f) Solid handling
a) Preliminary treatment plant :- The incoming raw sewage is strained to remove all large objects
to make their way into sewer system.Bar screens are used to remove .The influent flows across
these screens and the objects are struck to these screens . Incoming waste water is carefully
controlled to allow sand, grit and stone to settle at boyttom of channel
b) Primary treatment :- The primary treatment tank is produced both a generously homogeneous
liquid capable of treating biologically and are sludge that can be treated .Primary clarifiers are
used to treat the sewage
c) Secondary treatment:- Secondary treatment will remove 90% of the organic matter in waste
water. The different two process are used in attached growth process and suspended growth
process .In attached growth process in which mutiple organisms and other bacteria
grow.Attached growth process we use trickling factors and rotating biological contractors.
Suspended growth process where aerobic reaction takes place where water is agiated at sufficient
air transfer . In treatment plant is where waste water is vigourously mixed with air and micro-
organisms are attached and treated for hours
Teritary treatment plant:- teritary treatment plant is advanced treatment plant that generate high
quality effluent and secondary treatment can vital water for reuse
Disinfection:-Here chlorine and uV rays are used for treatement of water
