Black Screen.
The calming-yet-chilling sound of WHISTLING WIND can be
    heard.

                                                           FADE TO:

1 THE WOODS. EARLY EVENING.
The camera slowly pans across the forest ’landscape’
    admiring some trees.
                                                     SNAP CUT TO:

2 A PUBLIC FOOTPATH IN THE WOODS. EARLY EVENING.

Two men - TONY and HUGH - are running through the forest,
they’re enjoying some exercise before dark.
                                                     SNAP CUT TO:

3 EXT. WOODS. EARLY EVENING.
The camera pans across the sky, showing some clouds (if
possible) and the tops of the trees.

                                                     SNAP CUT TO:

4 A PUBLIC FOOTPATH IN THE WOODS. EARLY EVENING.
TONY and HUGH are still running.

Hugh is the fastest out of the two of them, and is slightly
    ahead.
                                                     SNAP CUT TO:

5 A CAR PARK. EARLY EVENING.
A FIGURE, dressed top-to-toe in black, walks away from a car
    and enters the woods.

As he continues to walk into the forest, an axe can be seen
    in his hand.
                                                           FADE TO:
2.

6 A PUBLIC FOOTPATH IN THE WOODS. EARLY EVENING.
The camera is still slowly taking in the sights of the
forest, the sound of the wind slowly dies down - and the
sound of RUNNING FOOTSTEPS and HEAVY BREATHING starts to
become audible as the two scenes from before combine.

    The sounds get louder,
    and louder,

    and louder.
The camera focuses on the footpath, and the two figures
belonging to TONY and HUGH can be seen in the distance.
They start to rapidly approach the camera.

    Faster,
    and faster.
    and faster.

The sound of them continues to get louder,
    and louder,
    and louder.

Suddenly, Tony and Hugh zoom past either side of the camera
    - without acknowledging it’s there.
                                                     SNAP CUT TO:

7 ANOTHER PART OF THE FOOTPATH. CONT.
HUGH, wearing a black hoodie over his head and jeans, is
racing ahead of TONY - who is wearing something relatively
    similar.

    Tony’s pace is slowing down.
                        TONY
              Hugh, slow down!

                        HUGH
              Come on! Keep going!
                        TONY
              Hugh!

                        HUGH
              It’s fine, you’ll catch up.
The camera cuts to a close up of Hugh’s face - full of
    determination.

Hugh zooms off out of shot.
The camera focuses on where Tony once stood.
    He has disappeared.

                                                         CUT TO:

8 ANOTHER PART OF THE WOODS. CONT.

HUGH runs towards the camera, and then looks behind him.
He realises that Tony has disappeared.
    He stops in his tracks.

The camera pans around him as he looks increasingly worried,
    and he shouts:
                              HUGH
              Tony?!

    No response.
                              HUGH
              TONY!
    He starts to run back.

                                                         CUT TO:

9 A PUBLIC FOOTPATH IN THE WOODS. EARLY EVENING.

TONY’s body lies lifeless on the floor, the FIGURE stands
    next to it.
                              HUGH
                      (OOV)
              Tony!

The figure hears Hugh in the distance, and starts to walk
    away - calmly and effortlessly.
    HUGH walks towards Tony’s body.

                         HUGH
Get up, Tony. Come on - stop being
               an idiot.
FADE TO: A SHOT FROM OUTSIDE OF THE PATH - PREFERABLY INSIDE
SOME BUSHES/SHRUBBERY. THIS IS THE P.O.V. OF THE FIGURE
     WATCHING HUGH.
Hugh kneels down beside Tony’s body, and realises that Tony
     is dead.

     He is speechless.
The figure starts to advance towards Hugh.
Hugh notices the figure is coming towards him.

                         HUGH
Help me! My friend’s dead. Please,
               help.
The figure continues to walk towards Hugh.

Hugh sees the axe in the Figure’s hand.
Hugh slowly starts to stand up.
     He starts to run away.

     The figure picks up speed.
     The chase begins.
                                                      SNAP CUT TO:

10 SOMEWHERE IN THE WOODS. CONT.
HUGH is running for his life.

The figure is no longer there.

11 DEEP INTO THE WOODS. CONT.

HUGH is sprinting as fast as he can.
     He’s getting out of breath.

     there.

He is unaware of the ditch that lies ahead of him, until...
He falls into it.
Hugh’s head slams onto the floor.

The action slides into slow motion as Hugh lifts his head
from the floor, and starts to come round. He assess where he
is, and slowly starts to stand up.
CUT TO A LONG SHOT LOOKING ON AT HUGH FROM BEHIND IN THE
DITCH, STILL IN SLOW MOTION:
The FIGURE advances towards Hugh without him realising. The
figure lifts his axe into the air.
The axe gets lifted up higher, as Hugh is still unaware of
what is about to happen, and then the action snap-cuts back
into fast motion as:
SLAM!
The axe is planted into Hugh’s head.

He collapses on the floor.
                                          SNAP CUT TO BLACK.
