• Access server objects in the same order.
• Avoid cursors, while loops, or process which
requires user input within the transaction.
• Reduce locking level.

transaction times.
– Fit indexes to queries.
– Prepare relevant data in temporary tables.
• Minimize application transactions or cross-
server transactions.
