The Teton Project explores the integration of Data Distribution Service (DDS) and CORBA Component Model (CCM) into a new standard called DDS4CCM, aimed at enhancing real-time middleware for component-based architectures. Key architectural tenets focus on open architecture, event-driven and service-oriented architectures, and modular design to facilitate better software development. Supported by the Object Management Group (OMG), DDS4CCM enhances capabilities beyond typical DDS by providing a formal specification for services and service discovery, addressing limitations of using DDS alone.
