Resistance genes retain a vital role in the face of climate changeICRISAT
ICRISAT study shows that drought-stressed groundnut plants or low phosphorus (P) conditions do not systematically lead to rapid increases in the population of Aphis craccivora Koch, which is the common aphid transmitting the groundnut rosette disease (GRD) that can have a significant effect on production and yield of groundnut crops. Sustainable crop production in sub-Saharan Africa is constrained by the limited availability of water, low soil fertility and by crop losses to insect pests and diseases. The advent of climate change means that drought, high temperature and low P continue to be major concerns for groundnut production in the Sahel region. An increase in the drought associated with climate change could increase the frequency and severity of insect population outbreaks, and thus, the occurrence of disease epidemics.

was a key to success. I adapt to different personalities, so I can truly hear people, which helps earn trust.
Once you have trust, you can genuinely communicate. Always be respectful, and treat everyone professionally.
Recently, I helped a new radio station by doing Lead Development for sales. I knew I had loads of phone skills,
so I said “Sure!” I made cold calls from the Chamber of Commerce list of companies, in St. Augustine Fl. This
work was temporary, but with “no experience” I was at 30% engagement from the start. I documented
conversation points and all details. And I saw opportunities for more than what was asked of me. Something
very different and fun, I made it fun by enjoying the people I met.
As a hard worker, my role usually evolves with my skill set. I’m not above anything, very open minded, friendly,
and enjoy working with people. Hope to meet you soon.
Thank you greatly for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Dawn

Companies & Experience:
Flagler Broadcasting: Lead Development: I was helping by listening to competing radio stations for their advertisers.
The VP asked if I would make cold calls to help open the door for sales. I wasn’t the money. I was
the connection, the personality calling from across the county to small business owners.
Everyone was excited with my performance at 30% engagement from the start. I didn’t know what
that meant, but I described my style as Charmingly Pushy. I connect because I’m being real.
Cameron-Pace: Freelance Media Supervisor: A position I created, to oversee recorded content delivery from Set
to Post for quick turnaround on live events, edited into features. The media needed strong
organization to compensate for linear recording (tape). I developed a color-coded, cross-
referenced, fully detailed Log. It needed to be done. Each show was a battle, capturing all the
information, but my system saved tons of time. I saw a need and developed a system.
Disney Editorial / Stage: Created pipeline procedure for non-standard, file based media, to accommodate
ImageMovers Digital: deeply varied departmental requirements. I was assigned a problem, which was not what I was
hired for. Goal was to understand what “it” was, figure out what to do with it, and deliver it on time
for Artists. I anticipated complex problems, and worked closely with a software engineer who
opened my eyes to how each piece could work together. As IMD began the process of closing, I
was ready to smooth out rough edges, add a GUI…my system had been designed lesson by
lesson, and needed to be used immediately while learning and updating it.
Sony Pictures: Sr. Coordinator: Scheduling, adjusting outdated procedures, much client interaction
3Ality Digital: Tape Operator: Perfect recording & pre-organizing under great stress, live events
NBC & CBS: Olympics: Various tasks in Barcelona, Atlanta, Nagano, and Salt Lake, live TV
iBeam: Broadcast Operations: 1
st
task was to create a functioning, scalable scheduling system
for California and Oklahoma offices which tied into Sales, Client reporting, etc. I designed
an online form for Sales, to help them provide necessary information, so my team could
deliver what was promised. There were drop down windows so tech was multiple choice,
which prompted the right questions while they focused on selling. As a start up, flexibility
was required. My reward for success was managing more departments.
Industrial Light + Magic: Tech & Supervisor: Insuring all requests for Master Control (like a Lab) were handled on
time and delivered properly. Trained Interns, was Hiring Mgr., we had many last minute
tasks, so resources needed to be organized and ready. Friends/Vets called me directly
once the Department grew & I always took care of them personally. Dealt with internal
and external clients, scheduled duplication, basic editing, conference calls, vendors,
attended meetings to know what was coming, plan ahead, and kept workflow smooth and
accurate. Understanding the team and ILM, was critical to maintaining the expected high
standards and trust.
GGP: Internship which turned into a job, where I first professionally learned the basics for my
career. Very fortunate to receive on the job training, not only for Master Control, also the
politics, scheduling challenges, variety of personalities, and becoming proactive to
prevent mistakes which helped us all. I watched the most talented, and emulated them.
