Big data ingest frameworks ship with an array of connectors for common data origins and destinations, such as flat files, S3, HDFS, Kafka etc, but sometimes, you need to send data to, or receive data from a system that's not on the list. Automating Data Quality Processes at Reckitt
Reckitt is a fast-moving consumer goods company with a portfolio of famous brands and over 30k employees worldwide. With that scale small projects can quickly grow into big datasets, and processing and cleaning all that data can become a challenge. To solve that challenge we have created a metadata driven ETL framework for orchestrating data transformations through parametrised SQL scripts. It allows us to create various paths for our data as well as easily version control them. The approach of standardising incoming datasets and creating reusable SQL processes has proven to be a winning formula. It has helped simplify complicated landing/stage/merge processes and allowed them to be self-documenting.
But this is only half the battle, we also want to create data products. Documented, quality assured data sets that are intuitive to use. As we move to a CI/CD approach, increasing the frequency of deployments, the demand of keeping documentation and data quality assessments up to date becomes increasingly challenging. To solve this problem, we have expanded our ETL framework to include SQL processes that automate data quality activities. Using the Hive metastore as a starting point, we have leveraged this framework to automate the maintenance of a data dictionary and reduce documenting, model refinement, testing data quality and filtering out bad data to a box filling exercise. In this talk we discuss our approach to maintaining high quality data products and share examples of how we automate data quality processes.

With Industry 4.0, several technologies are used to have data analysis in real-time, maintaining, organizing, and building this on the other hand is a complex and complicated job. Over the past 30 years, we saw several ideas to centralize the database in a single place as the united and true source of data has been implemented in companies, such as Data wareHouse, NoSQL, Data Lake, Lambda & Kappa Architecture.
On the other hand, Software Engineering has been applying ideas to separate applications to facilitate and improve application performance, such as microservices.
The idea is to use the MicroService patterns on the date and divide the model into several smaller ones. And a good way to split it up is to use the model using the DDD principles. And that's how I try to explain and define DataMesh & Data Fabric.

ETL is the process of extracting data from one location, transforming it, and loading it into a different location, often for the purposes of collection and analysis. As Hadoop becomes a common technology for sophisticated analysis and transformation of petabytes of structured and unstructured data, the task of moving data in and out efficiently becomes more important and writing transformation jobs becomes more complicated. Talend provides a way to build and automate complex ETL jobs for migration, synchronization, or warehousing tasks. Using Talend's Hadoop capabilities allows users to easily move data between Hadoop and a number of external data locations using over 450 connectors. Also, Talend can simplify the creation of MapReduce transformations by offering a graphical interface to Hive, Pig, and HDFS. In this talk, Cédric Carbone will discuss how to use Talend to move large amounts of data in and out of Hadoop and easily perform transformation tasks in a scalable way.

With Industry 4.0, several technologies are used to have data analysis in real-time, maintaining, organizing, and building this on the other hand is a complex and complicated job. Over the past 30 years, we saw several ideas to centralize the database in a single place as the united and true source of data has been implemented in companies, such as Data wareHouse, NoSQL, Data Lake, Lambda & Kappa Architecture.
On the other hand, Software Engineering has been applying ideas to separate applications to facilitate and improve application performance, such as microservices.
The idea is to use the MicroService patterns on the date and divide the model into several smaller ones. And a good way to split it up is to use the model using the DDD principles. And that's how I try to explain and define DataMesh & Data Fabric.

Data2Cloud is an Oracle upgrade and data migration tool for transitioning Oracle On- Premise ERP customers to Oracle ERP Cloud. The tool addresses upgrade complexities and risks such as: limited downtime window, large data volume, complex data reconciliations, short project durations and constrained business involvement. Data2Cloud is a zero downtime upgrade tool with a proven approach that results in no loss of service, revenue or data for a customer transitioning to Oracle ERP Cloud. How Does Data2Cloud Work? Data2Cloud takes an extract from the on-premise production system. The extract and the log files are “transformed” inside Data2Cloud using the transformation engine, which is configured to reflect how the data needs to be structured to load in to Oracle ERP Cloud. Data2Cloud then plays the transactions into Oracle ERP Cloud at a time and in a sequence that is suited to the Customer’s specific requirements. Data2Cloud ensures all data is transformed and manages exceptions both coming from the on-premise production system and going to the Oracle ERP Cloud system.
