1. PDHPE
Although PDHPE is only one area of the
six key KLA learning areas in the school
curriculum, PDHPE is as vitally
important to the student as the other
key learning areas. PDHPE plays a major
role on the students development
through their journey at school.
2. PDHPE Promotes Healthy Lifestyles
• Its vital that children are educated at an early
age in physical activity, and this should be
maintained on a regular basis. This is because
it can help prevent obesity, lower the risk of
developing heart disease, and improve
psychological health.
3. Develop and Maintain Positive Social
Relationships
• Physical activity and engagement in a team sporting environment can help
encourage students to grow positive social relationships with their peers.
• Within their various team sporting environments, students have the
setting to help develop their effective communication skills, conflict
resolution skills, tolerance and effective negotiation skills, and their
working cooperation skills which ultimately helps to enhance their social
relationships with their fellow peers.
4. Promotes Making Healthy Lifestyle
Choices
• “Young students need appropriate guidance
on correct health attitudes and behaviours”.
By guiding students in decision making,
nutrition, health services and products and
drug use, it will help benefit their personal
connection with correct lifestyle choices.
5. Promotes Living in a Safe and Secure
Learning Environment
“The safety and security of children is enhanced when they can recognise
situations where their personal safety may be at risk”.
Promoting safe living is essential for children to know how to react in certain
situations. Some examples and different practices that will be included in
our teaching methods include: Personal Safety, Home and Rural Safety,
School and Play Safety, Road Safety, Water Safety & Emergency
Procedures.
