Objectives To write an article for a travel magazine
To check meaning and intention
Activities & Strategies Pre-activities
1. T writes on the board the basic layout of an article (newspaper or magazine). *T may use APP CS > Blank and Pencil or Text to write and project.
1) Headline/title: It sits at the top of the article. The words are usually in bold text and capital letters so that they stand out and attract the reader’s attention.
2) Font: The font refers to the size, shape, and color of the text. The type of font used depends on the intended audience. Bold and italic fonts are used to draw attention to headings or certain
words and expressions.
3) Photographs: to persuade or to give more information about the article.
2. T explains how one of the main objective of an article is the impact it causes. There are other elements that are important to include, such as:
1) Subheadings: It’s easier to read a long text when it is broken down into shorter paragraphs.
2) Bullet points: This makes the information easier to read and understand, create a clear list of individual points.
3) Pull Quote: Quotes from eyewitnesses or experts are usually in bolder or larger type (in newspaper and magazine articles).
4) Caption: is short sentence that explains what the image is about.

being strong disagreement).
Step 2: Form a rank-ordered line and number the participants from 1 up (from strong agreement to strong disagreement, for example).
Step 3: Form groups of four by pulling one person from each end of the value line and two people from the middle of the group (for example, if you had 20 people, one group might consist of persons
