Are you building a multilingual Drupal website and wondering how you're going to get everything translated? One of the major challenges of setting up a multilingual site is getting translations into Drupal, and keeping them up-to-date. Whether you're working with a team of translators or translating the site yourself, there are lots of tools and techniques that you can use to improve your translation workflow.

With Drupal 8 we fixed a lot of issues with Translation. Finally Drupal can be reliably translated as is necessary for multilanguage sites. But the work is far from over! As with the Configuration Management Initiative which actually does not provide any new features and “only” allows to manage configurations over multiple Sites and Staging environments, there is the same need for Translations: Management of Translations.
Our world gets connected more and more, and the same happens with websites. They are multilingual, which means that they have the same text translated in different languages. But they are also connected to other sites and share content, why not share translations as well? Multilingual very often means several different languages. So there are different People and also external Translation Services working on the task at the same time. Texts adapt during time and the translations need to be adapted as well.
Now here ist the problem : There is no overview in core to show you really easy and fast which parts of your website are already translated and what still needs translation work.
This situation requires not only a translatable Drupal, it also needs a Drupal in which the translation process can be managed systematically..
If Drupal wants to be the leading CMS for Multilanguage Sites we need to provide such management capabilities.
There are already tools out there to help Drupal users to manage translations. The “Translation Management Tools” are currently the most advanced suite of modules for this task, but there are also other ideas and modules which help with management of translations.

Drupal 8's new and improved multilingual tools open a world of translation capabilities for users of the Lingotek Translation contribution module for Drupal. The majority of Drupal 7's contributed multilingual modules have been replaced with just a few Drupal core modules - making D8 more multilingual out of the box. Lingotek builds on top of that increased functionality to offer users a complete translation and localization experience.
For D8, all content entity types can now be translated using Lingotek's automated, cloud-based translation management system (TMS), and site administrators will receive the same superior support from Lingotek's team of translation experts.
In this presentation, you will learn about:
- the changes to the multilingual landscape in Drupal 8,
- updates to the Lingotek Translation module for D8,
- how to manage translation for projects that want to charge ahead with D8,
- and how you can leverage Lingotek's services to keep your users satisfied.
Don't Get Lost in Translation: Multilingual Site Building with Drupal 7 at Dr...Suzanne Dergacheva
Multilingual site building with Drupal can be challenging. Depending on the type of site you’re building, the list of modules you’ll need and the configuration settings you’ll choose will vary greatly. Even a single project could include more than one method for translating menus, taxonomy terms, and content. Before you get started, you need to consider your audience, what type of content you have, and how all the pieces of your website will be translated.
In this session, we’ll walk you through the steps of creating a multilingual website for an international organization. This will give you an understanding of Drupal’s multilingual architecture and how translations are managed for different parts of Drupal. You’ll learn which modules to use for different use cases, and what to ask your client before you start the project. Whether you’re a site builder or a developer working on your first multilingual Drupal 7 site, this session will help you plan your next multilingual project and get started on the right foot.

Localize.drupal.org has long been the central hub for translating Drupal core and its modules, themes and distributions. In this session, we'll discuss how the site supports Drupal 8 (and where its lacking) as well as best practices for translation teams to organize the work on Drupal 8 and its contributed projects.
Delphi 2009 is available in three editions. The Professional edition is designed for building desktop and workstation applications. The Enterprise edition includes everything in the Professional edition, and adds support for building client/server and multi-tier database and web applications. The Architect edition includes everything in the Enterprise edition, plus logical and physical database modeling and optimizations from the Embarcadero ER/Studio Developer Edition.
Drupal 7 vs. Drupal 8: A Contrast of Multilingual SupportAcquia

As you likely know, creating multilingual websites in Drupal 7—with its web of modules and dependencies—is not for the faint of heart. What takes Drupal 7 20+ contrib modules to support is now part of core in Drupal 8. Its 4 multilingual core pillars—Language, Interface, Content, Config—make Drupal 8 a relieving contrast to Drupal 7’s old patchwork of multilingual afterthought.
In this Tech Talk, we will:
-Review the Drupal 7 multilingual landscape in contrast to Drupal 8’s core multilingual capabilities
-Demonstrate how to properly prepare a Drupal 8 website for multilingual support
-Show the traditional process of translating Drupal 8 websites
-Explore how Acquia and Lingotek can help with the translation process for Drupal 8 websites
Envisioning the Future of Language WorkbenchesMarkus Voelter
Over the last couple of years, I have used MPS successfully to build interesting (modeling and programming) languages in a wide variety of domains, targeting both business users and engineers. I’ve used MPS because it is currently the most powerful language workbench, lots of things are good about iz, in particular, its support for a multitude of notations and language modularity. But it is also obvious that MPS is not going to be viable for the medium to long term future; the most obvious reason for this statement is that it is not web/cloud-based. In this keynote, I will quickly recap why and how we have been successful with MPS, and point out how language workbenches could look like in the future; I will outline challenges, opportunities and research problems. I hope to spawn discussions for the remainder of the workshop.
Why Should You Upgrade to Delphi 2009? You can build applications that handle global data with ease using new Unicode support throughout the IDE and VCL. And now get more insight into your database structures with data modeling and visualization in the all new Delphi Architect Edition.

Drupal 8 è in arrivo. Il nuovo Configuration Management è valido sotto molti punti di vista, ma non renderà Features del tutto obsoleto.
A whole new world for multilingual sites in Drupal 8 - jam's Drupal Camp sessionJeffrey McGuire
Slides from Gábor Hojtsy, Drupal 8 Multilingual Initiative Lead's presentation for jam's Drupal Camp on the incredible work and improvements for translation and localisation that have gone into Drupal 8.
Over 800 (yes, eight hundred) people participated in the issues around improving multilingual features and APIs in Drupal 8 for the past two and a half years. Over 500 issues have been resolved making Drupal 8 a truly outstanding release for everybody looking to create even single language non-English sites but especially those making multilingual sites.
This session aims to show you around all the great improvements and give tips as to how to best utilise the new solutions.
The ideal attendee at this session has some experience in Drupal 6 or 7 multilingual site building, however those who have no experience in foreign/multilingual site building will also get a lot out of it.
Want to be involved in this project? See http://hojtsy.hu/multilingual-drupal8 for an article series on the details on what we accomplished. http://www.drupal8multilingual.org/ is our initiative home and we have meetings every other week to discuss and move current efforts forward.
Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.

19. Contexts are intended for per-meaning translatability Context: “May” as Long month name ( not “may be”) Context is a new feature; guidelines still need to be developed. So far, used inconsistently. Not supported by Javascript menu items and strings.

22. Now about content translation Enable multilingual support in content type properties: Looking for this in “Publishing options” is not really obvious
23.
24.
25.
26. And now something really new… We need to use some contributed modules However, D7 has NO built-in interface for translatable fields D7 core has built-in support for field languages!!! (via its new Field API)
34. Enabling multilingual variables in i18n/D6: add their names ( site_name , site_footer , theme_settings , etc.) to the settings.php file $conf['i18n_variables'] = array( // Site name, slogan, mission, etc.. 'site_name', 'site_slogan', 'site_mission', 'site_footer', 'anonymous', // Different front page for each language 'site_frontpage', // Primary and secondary links 'menu_primary_links_source', 'menu_secondary_links_source', // Contact form information 'contact_form_information', // For theme variables, read more below 'theme_settings', 'theme_garland_settings', );
35. i18n/D7 does not work this way anymore Now multilingual variables are controlled via “Multilingial settings – Variables” menu (Depends on the new variable.module )
36. Multilingual variables A very convenient link to switch languages (especially if there is no language switcher in the admin theme)
37.
38. Taxonomy terms Connect different terms as translations of each other: This option was available in D6, too – but it did not really work. Now (I hope) it should!
