This document provides new terms related to cybersecurity and uses analogies to explain how they fit together. It introduces the terms "exploit," "cause," "loss," "consequence," and "exposure." It then illustrates these concepts using the examples of a bear stealing honey from a bee hive and a cyber thief stealing a user's banking credentials. In both cases, an asset is exposed to a threat due to a vulnerability that can be exploited, which causes a loss and leads to unwanted consequences that impact the asset owner.
