Responsible for the day-to day running of the Grid Maintenance in the Eastern
Sector particularly on Line and Substations Maintenance. Making sure that
maintaining the facilities from high voltage Transmission Lines, Transformers,
Substations meet the high company standards.
Duties:
 As a member of the executive management team for Maintenance, contribute
to the development and agreement of company-wide strategies and plans for
Transmission to assist in harmonization and the distillation and dissemination
of best practice.
 Review regularly the organization structure and operational processes and
initiate and review studies in order to identify opportunity for the
implementation of changes that optimize operational effectiveness.
 Manage the development of electrical systems operating standards to be
implemented throughout the operating area, review , update and approve
electrical protection system schemes and liase with Field Services to ensure
that new installations conform with standards.
 Manage and monitor the commissioning and maintenance of transmission
facilities and assets in the area to meets power demand as efficiently, reliably
and cost effectively as possible and accept and ensure the effective hand over
of new equipment on behalf of transmission operations.
 Manage the regular review current facilities and future transmission
requirements and oversee projects for the design, improvement and new
construction facilities to ensure the operating units in the regions can optimize
their construction to meeting present and future customer demands and
employ best technology and operating practices.
 Contribute to the development and agreement to company-wide operating
procedures and standards for Transmission and related equipment/facilities,
and direct the development, tuning and implementation of these in the area to
maintain the highest standards of operation, safety and reliability and
optimize costs.
 Contribute to the development (by the Security and Safety function) of best
practice health, safety and environment policies and procedures.

2.  Manage and monitor their implementation ensuring that all activities are
undertaken in strict compliance in order to protect SEC personnel, assets, the
environment and corporate reputation.

power Transmission sector in order to identify those that can be
recommended for effective adaptation and deployment in the area.
 Manage and oversee the recruitment, development appraisal and motivation
